Elderly lustful to eradicate

Hello,

At my father's place, there is lurid elderberry which has more or less invaded 5000m2 of land. He would like to destroy it because it reduces the area of land for the donkeys that graze on it, and it always gains more each year; !
Problem: a large part is in a wetland, the rest upstream. Uneven and stony terrain.

Ideas ?

"The only way to destroy the haughty is to plow the field as many times as you see it grow back; ten times, twenty times in a year if necessary; & each time, the plow must be followed by a woman, by children, in order to pick up the roots and carry them out of the field: it is by dint of exhausting the plant by new shoots, that to destroy it. If one does not want to use the plow, women and children can dig the earth with the pickaxe, & c. "

Well, it dates from 1784! Maybe there has been better since then? And you must have a wife and children. : Lol:

try the roundup, you might find an old bottle from behind the fagots with a good vintage of glyphosate : Mrgreen:

I proposed round up + sodium chlorate but there is more. Too bad it would have been perfect in a wet area to keep it clean.

(Humor too)

Otherwise make the donkeys work with a plow but not sure that the owner is ok

Why this solution, when "If we do not want to use the plow, women and children can dig the earth with the pickaxe,"?

The "women and children ..." solution must be put in context and, from this point of view, it is anachronistic.
I would rather see a recourse to an eco-participation of city dwellers (relatives, city dwellers: be careful with the carbon footprint!) Too sedentary and who would find there, at little cost, a saving activity.

Pfff ... I try to help with proven solutions and some call them "anachronistic" ....

Proven or trying? : Wink:
Note that I only offer a "set up" of your solution and that this is in no way a categorical rejection! : Cheesy:
