At the origin of the interrogation of the title several observations.
Greenhouse in tunnel
- it's expensive
- at the mercy of bad weather
- it does not rain in
- for the shade sail it's not won
To get around the problem of the price I first thought to make a wooden one, there are some in private homes by us and I saw dozens in Portugal of professional dimensions
Then seeing the damage caused by nature (wind and snow) I thought that if it was to break the bowl for that it was not worth it.
So I think I will opt for greenhouses in chassis whose height will be determined
Besides, how tall?
Benefit
- I can make them in wood for cheap
- they will be tailor-made for my environment
- rain can water crops
- the "lids" made of greenhouse tarpaulins could easily be completely removed (see P30 frames) made at the beginning of winter and stung by Mrs for her tunnel)
- no wind
- the possible snow damage would be peanuts question costs
- I can lie where I want on the ground without being forced to build a fence (it's swollen to do that) against rabbits
- I can partition according to the sunshine: shadow cheap
MAIS
For vegetables IS IT CHANGING SOMETHING ???
The volume of air is different from a tunnel .... so what consequences
The plants are closer to the greenhouse film (magnifying effect?)
Hotter?
Colder?
see Didier's video: raising his plants
I invent many objections to the cookie cutter to furnish but in fact I know nothing at all
Dimensions ... in judgment 4 x 2 m?
Wooden sides?
1 side? the bottom wall?
2 sides? the 2 partitions on the sides
3 sides? background and sides
4 sides?
What about the lack of light with wooden sides?
What about cold protection without wooden sides but in a greenhouse covering?
Knowing that 1 (partition of the bottom) or 2 (partitions of the sides) seem to me essential to make weight history that it does not fly either
In short you see that the questions are not lacking .... so your good heart ...

Re: Tunnel greenhouse or greenhouse in chassis?
Hello,
I had the idea to make a greenhouse on a model of standard chassis, 1m style by 2, doubly inlay, which in addition to protecting the wood, creates a double insulating skin, assembled with couplets, (removable hinges) ), it should be a work accessible to many.
I would have to sketch.
For me I can not have a greenhouse or completely automated.
Olivier.

I would be interested, with some photos!

Re: Tunnel greenhouse or greenhouse in chassis?
greenhouse tunel? double inconvenient, it does not rain in it and the water that falls on it can not be recovered to fill a cistern
so I prefer a greenhouse with vertical walls, and a low slope roof, with gutter to fill a cistern
the tunnels are both too expensive and not strong enough to withstand all weather ... we can prefer to do more solid to be safe and sustainable

Re: Tunnel greenhouse or greenhouse in chassis?
Fragility in the face of bad weather of all kinds is part of the criteria of this choice as well as the benefit of the rain actually.
Also as a person I do not conceive the object greenhouse as a "piece", (as Ms. ) but exclusively as an object for vegetables and only for them.
Only downside that I do not know the scope on crops: the volume of air ...
Is the confined nature of a chassis better or less good or equivalent to that of a large tunnel with an unparalleled airflow?
Mystery and gumdrop
It remains to determine some factors
- length
- width
- Heights
- degree of slope of the lid
- type of lid
- type of walls
- type of posts
- type of management of the opening
- location / exhibition
All this is simmering .... for a first prototype ...
Knowing that the simplest solution has already been found: straw boots for partitions and chassis from above, finished.
This may be the extensive expansion solution.
For the moment, the impasto on the ground straw bales (even positioned vertically) inflates me a little in the current kitchen garden whose perimeter is already frozen.
Indeed we quickly lose potential square meters and it does not suit me too much.
To be continued
