Overfishing, end of the fish galore? Arte Thema

by Christophe » 07/01/14, 20:20

Tonight on Arte:

Overfishing - The end of fish galore?

For decades, an armada of boats has been plying the seas of the globe without interruption. Intensive fishing which seriously threatens biodiversity. According to specialists, this overfishing is practiced on 90% of the Mediterranean, while 40% of fish species in the northeast Atlantic are threatened. Quota systems or subsidies granted by the European Union contribute to this situation, as concedes Maria Damanaki, a Commissioner for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries who recently set up a reform against this over-exploitation of resources. But will these EU measures be enough to prevent the disaster?

once again a cry of alarm on the overexploitation of the environment in a consumerist and economic objective. Traditionally, individuals consumed what the reduced environment produced: Culture, hunting, local fishing, but the high urban concentrations, boosted by the increase in income, distorted the situation and consumption became artificial to "feed »These urban and lead to the whole population eventually following this artificial model.
Globalization leads to re-think this model which is done to the advantage of certain wealthy people (us!) And to the detriment of other populations. So where our economic model, and therefore also consumption, is intended to develop for all humans and then hello the ecological disaster, or the consumption of the wealthy (we!) Is drastically reduced and therefore approaches the vegetarian model that she should never have left.
This will be done by thoughtful choice or by obligation, but in any case will lead to it! : Cheesy:

Senegal to seize Russian boat

5 January 2014

The Senegalese state wants to seize a Russian trawler arrested for illegal fishing in its waters on December 26 and demand a fine of 400 million FCFA (nearly 610.000 euros) for recidivism, said Sunday the Minister of Fisheries, Haïdar El- Ali.

remember that the vegetarian model replaces meat with fish, and therefore the model that you defend is also partly responsible for this overfishing, since the consumption of fish is also increasing because of the model that you present as a solution

so aren't you deceiving yourself again?

Come on, crush a little and take a "baby" of glyphosate ... : roll:
Vegetarianism is a dietary practice that excludes the consumption of animal flesh.
“Ovo-lacto-vegetarianism”, the most common practice in Western countries, includes eggs, dairy products (cheese, butter, yoghurts, etc.) and honey.

"Veganism" includes only plants (plus minerals or micro-organisms such as yeasts or bacteria) and excludes any product derived from animals (including eggs, milk, cheese and honey).

Pesco-vegetarianism or pescetarism is a food practice consisting in abstaining from consuming meat, but consuming the flesh obtained from fish, crustaceans and aquatic molluscs. This practice was that of the Cathars.

As you say, when we want to make fun etc, etc ... 8)
