More than a third of our food is pollinated by bees. Albert Einstein is said to have said: "If one day the bees disappear, the extinction of humanity would take place four years later. Swiss director Markus Imhoof has been very familiar with the extraordinary world of these laborious insects since childhood. His grandfather's hive was a magical place for him. Today, Imhoof's daughter and her husband are running a bee research project in Australia. Starting from a beekeeper in the Swiss mountains, Markus Imhoof traveled around the world to interview scientists. He talks about the phenomenal intelligence of bees and their social cohabitation. Thanks to very modern camera technology, impressive and unique images show life inside a hive or mating with the queen in flight. MORE THAN HONEY is not just another film about this media event, the death of bees. He talks about life, men and bees, zeal and greed, superorganisms and collective intelligence.
