A team of MIT engineers have developed a mobile desalination plant that works entirely with solar panels. More efficient than previous models, it is also less expensive.

According to one of the researchers who developed the project, David L. Chandler, "90% of the salt water pumped will be able to come out of the plant while being drinkable. Which is enormous, compared to the usual rates of 40 to 60%" .
The prototype has already been tested in several villages in India during 2014 to test its efficiency and maintenance costs. Result: in 24 hours, the factory can remove the 7950 liter salt. Something to help the areas affected by drought ... As long as they are close to a source of salt water.
