Small infographic that gives the consumption of water to produce 1kg of some common foods:

christophe hello

Unlike other products presented which are finished products, the egg is a fetus that should be compared to other animal fetuses and the proportionality would be (reduced to weight) probably very close. I would be curious to know how this calculation (which seems to me more than excessive) was done.

The most shocking thing in the construction of this painting is that the plants use rainwater, who would have fallen anyway and that massively drawn to support productions in an artificial environment, are placed on the same plane.

The methodologically most shocking thing about the construction of this painting is that the use of rainwater by plants, which would in any case have fallen, and the use of rainwater to produce artificially, are placed on the same plane.
not quite! This is the overall consumption that comes from rain and waterlogged land or groundwater. The goal is to emphasize the disproportions to achieve the same result between 1 kg of potatoes and 1 kg of bidoche, while the problem of drinking water may become a global issue in the coming years. (this is already the case in some regions)

I find it more relevant to compare the land areas needed to produce a kg. For example the water used to make 1 kg of pdt will anyway return in the environment by evaporation, infiltration, use by the plant but it will return anyway in the environment even the water contained in the pdt that we eat.
On the other hand 323 m2 for 1 kg of beef or 6 m2 for 1 kg of vegetables this is not at all the same thing.

obviously it is not possible to be limited to one or two parameters. What is absurd (especially in ecology) is to support consumption behavior as catastrophic for humans as for animals sacrificed for the sole pleasure of taste egoistic. (selfish behavior found among smokers, drinkers and other addicts)

For beer I think it's 2 to 3L about ... but I do not know if it's the overall balance sheet figure or only the manufacturing figure!
