Swallows in the process of extinction?

by the middle » 16/08/08, 16:58

Not a swallow in my area this year.
And I'm not the only one to notice it.
Usually, they are seen on electrical or telephone wires; the nothing
However, today I saw 1 butterfly :? 1

Bonjour à tous

Unfortunately you have not dreamed or need to change glasses: : Cry:

http://www.hirondelle.oiseaux.net/menaces.html

The first results already indicate a statistically significant downward trend.
From 1989 to 2001, STOC-EPS announced a drop in staff of around 40%. A slight increase can be noted over the period from 2001 to 2006.
The trends are stable in Great Britain and downward for the Netherlands.
A decrease of 36% for the barn swallow. Trends are stable in Britain and the Netherlands

Yaka do something, to those who have a garage barn etc.
to help them nest in your home:

Chimney swallows build a dried earth nest inside garages, stables or huts. So just leave an opening (at least 7 X 5 cm) from the end of March until August to let them circulate. Inside, to help them hang the nest, you can plant a few nails (which you will let protrude) over two meters in height.

If the birds do not have earth and water for construction, it is preferable to make available to them, or to place an artificial nest which you will find near the LPO or in the Nature and Discovery stores.

The window swallow is satisfied with the same arrangements as its cousin chimney even if it nests outside. She likes the nooks sheltered under the roofs, exposed to the south. You can help it by installing hooks but avoid window tops, entrances and balconies. Beware of droppings ..

For biodiversity, questions of econological yields, there is a nice little report on simplified cultivation techniques, intended for farmers. You will see one of the speakers there who says he sees the larks and woodcocks come back today, because he no longer plows the soil (earthworms do it for him) :) :

If I have seen a few swallows which were spinning strangely in the sky as before leaving during the winter.

Now, according to the latest news, is it still summer in the middle of August?

And 2 mountaineers (a 50-year-old father - experienced 35 years of experience - and his son) froze to death following a sudden drop in temperature by climbing the north wall of Monte Cinto in Corsica this weekend.

Bonjour à tous

Well the film ... it seems so logical and natural ... after (8000 years?) Of agriculture .. we ask ourselves fundamental questions ..... not all understood :frown: : Evil: We threw away the knowledge of the ancients with the baby and the bath water. : Shock:

For the swallows, I saw a good twenty this morning while going to work. They took the spawn quietly on an electric wire.
