Liège garbage cans at HVB

by elephant » 13/09/06, 08:16

Your daam!

The radio announced this morning (13/09/2006) that a Liège garbage truck would run on rapeseed oil. :?
Small flat, the city is not sure to find the 18000 liters per year to satisfy the appetite of the craft :frown:

I hope that the Belgian government will be less stupid than its neighbor and that it will not happen the same misadventure as in villeneuve-sur-lot : Evil:

see this subject for those who don't know the story.

And the oil tanks in the container yards? Who is it for? We should do the photo report this afternoon!

No risk, since early April it's legalized here ... provided you buy directly from the producer ... so the remark of elephant does not arise either ...

ps: by going to strasbourg last weekend in bécane, I am sure to have passed (smell) a truck (dumpster) running in oil on the A4 motorway :)

well, I guess if they know where and if they say it is because they know that production is limited: 18000 liters is a lot and they are probably not the only ones

Well if they say it is that it must be true ... pfffffffff

Here is my personal experience:

Well in my old job we had permanently 20L of used oil recovered FREE (with a few bribes assumed) and we consumed 800 to 1200 L per day ...

So I don't think 18L / year is a problem ... yet.

The question does not even arise if we buy new oil at 60-70 cts from the producer ... just wait for the plants to grow ...:D

Hello,
For Belgian HVBs, I believe that the sector only concerns new oil, no recycling in this circuit.
Shame ...

This is not because we always said that it is impossible that we should not try :)

Is that what I said? new direct sale from the producer ...

For recycled oil since there is an incineration cost for Belgium (which does not have an incinerator) I think its use is tolerated ...

Don't worry, they will do as in Switzerland, they will go to France to get their supplies. There are lots of HBV and in addition producers are not allowed to sell it as fuel inside the country. Export is therefore a lifeline for them. Everyone is benefiting :P
