Numerical simulation and modal analysis of a reactor

by Christophe » 03/03/08, 12:57

I (re) put here some results of a digital modeling of a pantone "reactor" which were produced by RPSantina at the end of 2005! They have already been posted on the wiki but too "deep" to be visible: https://www.econologie.com/wiki-moteur-p ... yse_modale

The simulation is in 2D and the flow is from right to left.

With Julien's ionization theory, it will probably give you more precise ideas !! For those who do not know her yet: https://www.econologie.com/ionisation-de ... -3324.html

Here are other results made with Microtunel: http://www.microcfd.com/

for the blown veins, here are the results at mach 0.90
it is a tunnel 4m long by 3m wide.
the central bar is 0.625m by 0.125m
It is the smallest that was possible.
the calculation softwares imposes the speed / speed input = 1 ratio at the contours of the vein,
ditto for Pressure, Temperature and Density.

The color code goes from Mauve to Red

1) Speed

2) Density

3) Pressure

4) Temperature (just on gas compression)

And here are the 4 corresponding videos:

And here are the comments from RPS:

The shock wave is blocked at the tip of the bar and the vacuum cone (speed of the order of Mach 2) "blocks" the flow in the annular space of the reactor. The quantity of outgoing material therefore becomes less than that entering ... : Shock:
