Not enough information on ecology in France? ...

Here is a report from the Monitor Group on the "debates" on energies held until the middle of this year.

"The societal debate did not take place

No, obviously, the societal debate has not yet taken place. And the reasons are known. Not much publicized, the debate did not attract the citizen crowds. And, fortunately, one could, oh paradox, almost say. Because, how to be interested, how to be a force of proposal on subjects as difficult as the security of the supply, the sequestration of the carbon or the good composition of the French energy bouquet, without knowing anything of these resolutely abstract concepts? Certainly, do not forget to remind the beautiful minds of the Ministry of Industry, great efforts of explanations and pedagogy were provided: two websites were put online (plus one by the ecologists), a brochure was pulled to three million copies (who actually read it?). But, obviously, even the most open-minded French people have preferred to follow the war against Iraq (a way of talking about hydrocarbons), to prepare the viaducts of the month of May or to defend their rights at retirement rather than to follow the debate of Nicole Fontaine. (...)
Should it, however, refrain from "debate"? Probably not. Because, wanting to appear only as players of the "drums of the Bronx" anti-nuclear environmentalists have not necessarily defended their ideas at best. Too much to compare the disadvantages of nuclear to the Holocaust, some Greens have not shown intelligence and will probably disgusted many citizens wary of their criticisms and their proposals. (...) "

You can for the modest sum of 60 euros and on the same site to order the cd-rom debates
or if you are smarter, take a tour on the site of the Vilette (see post on the debate on energies "
