Cat and kitten, first contact and meeting

by Christophe » 09/06/08, 12:54

We have just received 1 kitten of 7 weeks old (photos and videos will come). Problem, contrary to what we thought, our current cat seems to have trouble accepting it.

It's only been 24 hours but the "big" (2 years old in August 2008 and neutered) continues to growl and spit (I don't know the exact words for a cat ??) as soon as he sees the little one.

He even had a sort of "asthma attack" last night (very heavy and noisy breathing).

In fact I believe that the big one is much more afraid than the small one. :|
But for the moment he has not attacked only growled ...

kk1 would have tips and tricks to calm (a little) the situation or improve the meeting?

ps: these are 2 males.

24h! Bof, do not worry, it is often longer than that to settle, this kind of news for a cat:

hello not bad the site on cats.

christophe, i had the same problem at a time not far away, my girlfriend's pussy which was also older by two years, was always slapping my little cat, and then i found the solution, i put my girlfriend outside with her pussy, and I've had more problems since then.

(humor) and reality.
