Help build a Europe without GMOs
The October 25, European Commissioner for the Environment, Stavros Dimas, has courageously opposed the big agribusiness companies - refusing to allow the cultivation of two varieties of genetically modified maize (Bt11 and 1507).
But the agrochemical companies that grow these genetically engineered seeds have powerful allies. It is possible that the unprecedented decision of Commissioner Dimas will be reversed at the next meeting of the European Commission.
A powerful public protest is needed to get the Commission to put the health of its citizens ahead of the economic interests of two chemical companies.
You can help by sending this message to Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission, and Commissioners Dimas, Vassiliou (consumers), Fischer-Boel (agriculture) and Barrot (transport).
