I spoke with a Paragliding World Champion

by Christophe » 03/06/07, 13:14

Yesterday, during a small local paraglider meeting (see http://www.larochailes.be/ ), I had the opportunity to speak with the world champion (Raul)

He obviously worries about the problem of global warming ... especially considering the number of landscapes that this kind of champion meets ...

So here it is not very eco-friendly as a subject but these people really love nature and paragliding is probably the most economical way to fly :) So here I just wanted to put a note.

Here is the team site: http://www.acrosat.com/default.asp

Oh I forgot, I took the opportunity to do a paragliding baptism in duo ...

1) We wallowed miserably on takeoff :D
See: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4rdre ... ente_sport

2) Despite what one might think a priori when seeing a sail from a distance, there are very good sensations: 3 g as a duo and up to 6 g for the champions ...

Christine made some photos and some videos, I put them online as soon as it's discharged :)

Raul and Antoine are modest when he does 30 or 50 looping, they have to take more than that; just have to see their face at the landing.

Big base downstairs from my house; already 2 pantonized vehicles.

paragliding is great. they don't wake us up during the nap : Lol: : Lol: : Lol:

You haven't met Guidy, paragliding enthusiast and neighbor, which is very rare on the forum ?

You do not go a little hard with the G you can instantly measure in shock.
in a loop made well by plane when you take 3 g 3,5 g that's all. in a turn on the edge you take 4 it's a lot
many planes break at 4,5 G and even less to ultralight them.

a passenger not accustomed to 4g he begins to see in small holes if you hold it for a few seconds he sees all black a loop it does not last long just a little down in the resource ..

a cessna 4,5 G a DR400 not even a turn on the edge
a cessna 150 either.

Of course ... La Roche Aile is his club, so he was part of the organization and it was he who told me about the meeting.

Yes, he no longer speaks Guidi bcp but he is always watching us;)

2 years ago I did an aerobatic baptism in a Robin DR400 I believe.

If the accelerometers were well calibrated took -0,5g and + 4g (start of a looping) ...

Hello
2 years ago I did an aerobatic baptism in a Robin DR400 I think

it had to be a heading 10 rather
the DR400 are not even allowed to make a turn more than 60 degrees the side member has a defect must be corrected

for 4G the guy did it on purpose to pull a little stiff down for your hollow cheeks ..
a nice loop should be long, it's less stressful for the wings
and it's more harmonious ..
