Resignation of Benedict XVI and the new Pope Francis

by elephant » 13/02/13, 12:20

I am launching this subject, because the reflections on the resignation of Benedict XVI really have nothing to do on the subject of "humor".

But, as we talk about it:

Christopher said:

In my opinion, this resignation (one per millennium) translates our society more and more irresponsible ...

Benoit may be tired but others were tired before him, when he "signed" he knew the conditions ...

Are the Poles braver than the Germans?

I think on the contrary that he made the right decision:

there is permanently, only within the Catholic Church, 5 or 6 types capable of occupying this position (not counting women and exteriors). To want to hang on would only serve the interests of the Catholic Church and would be proof of immeasurable pride. B16 gave a good signal of modernism and efficiency.
In time (say, before 1930), mentalities were different: the period of "physical decay" / death of a person was shorter and bringing together the cardinals more complex.

For the rest, a pope is absolutely not essential: Reformed churches (which are less painful than the Catholic Church) have largely demonstrated for almost 500 years.

In view of the financial mess, crab basket, mafia in the finances of the Vatican, feeling tired, he preferred to pass the hand.
It's wise, because Jean-Paul I, (of my family), did not have this chance.
He wanted to hit the anthill and redistribute the treasures of the church ...
Strangely, gastric pain flashed, subito presto, ad patres ...

What to do with Benoit's ring?

http://www.lepoint.fr/culture/un-artisa ... 9380_3.php

Claudio Franchi grieves: this jeweler craftsman of Rome made the papal ring that Benedict XVI received at the beginning of his pontificate, but according to tradition, this unique object must be destroyed on February 28, the last day of the pontificate of Joseph Ratzinger.

"I hope that this ring will be kept and displayed. It is a jewel that has such symbolic value," Mr. Franchi told AFP about this huge solid gold ring that the Pope has been wearing since 2005.

After the death of a pope, this ring is solemnly broken by Cardinal Camerlingue, who runs the Vatican until the election of a new pope.

After the announcement of the next and historic resignation of Benedict XVI, Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi indicated that the ring would be "destroyed, probably broken", along with other items bearing his signature

If not to get back to the bottom of the matter: I think the resignation of a pope is a serious fact that augurs ominous omens and a troubled period (he had resigned why the previous middle age?) ...

Yes except that when we sign a "contract" ... we stick to it! Especially if this contract is signed with God lol!

If the highest dignitaries of humanity do not respect their commitments, how can we ask the little people to be more respectable!

This is what bothers me a lot in this business!
