Re: Electric Cars and transport, wire news
I never said that batteries were not going to one day be virtuous, I am even waiting for that day to switch to EVs. As for the availability of lithium, well, it's like for oil: We haven't finished finding it.

Effectively! It's like Peterr, when you look you find!

Re: Electric Cars and transport, wire news
The problem is that as with all things, if no one buys what is available now, there will never be a market and therefore no research to arrive at these "virtuous" batteries which will therefore never exist.

Re: Electric Cars and transport, wire news
Perfect reasoning.
In 1998 Married to a Parisian. I discover that the father-in-law's neighbor is a certain Vincent Bolloré. I was heavily into the super capacitors.
My father-in-law never wanted to introduce him to me even though they walked their dogs together. The father-in-law was a lecturer in physics with a state thesis on radon.
What a waste when you see the mess he has put on the market with his kettle battery for rent

Fairly agree on the substance in general, we need buyers who get started, but in this specific case there are other levers which can motivate RetD to gain an advantage over competitors.
Lower costs, lower weight, generally improve performance, get rid of materials whose availability could become problematic... There's work!

Re: Electric Cars and transport, wire news
I'm quite surprised not to have any comments on my comparison, sandero and spring.
I also did a comparison on a 208 petrol, and in EV, there is more than €10 price difference, initially...
At the arrival ? the EV costs much less... Even if it does not become "free" compared to the VT.

Re: Electric Cars and transport, wire news
It's good to know that all the technology we have today is entirely due to car and motorcycle racing from the beginning. Each major advance is immediately copied and improved by the competition. And it always starts in a garage.
Just for the example of the hybrid Formula 1: it's astonishing in terms of efficiency and performance for a 6cm³ V1600.
This is a transitional stage before going all-electric.
The latest motor of the latest Lotus VAE is a variant of a NASA electric motor to go to Mars. 300 grams per thing for 200W (I think).
But there will always be the refractory ones like Janic who don't understand anything and his little local mechanic too (no desire to train, too complicated). Preferring to recycle cast iron beams with wooden wheels.
Such is the world, and thank you Mr Tesla for this magnificent concept of a three-phase motor. Brushless, I don't know the genius who did it but bravo too

So technology...
I came across an article from the 75-80s the other day, which said that the gencod on articles would put thousands of cashiers out of work within 10 years...
Didn't see that.
Coming back to EVs, there's a MIA that has done more than 320 km...
You know, this old EV, with 3 seats, one in the front, and 2 in the back.... This old EV that no one wants, because it has no autonomy.... battery 8 or 12 kWh.
