PVGIS gives the photovoltaic potential at a given location, regardless of cloud cover.

I very much doubt it year round.

PVGIS does not give "instantaneous values" which obviously depend on the unpredictable cloudy and/or rainy hazard.

Considering all the bastringue and energy-consuming equipment on board, I think that a generator would not be superfluous in his bus.

There are hybrid inverters that manage all this (with 2 electro Gp sources / PV panels to batteries)

How does the CT pass this bus? : Shock:

in the Maghreb, I have an idea... ci ti mi dons li bakchich :P

bah in France, it must be homologated with the service of the Mines. There is a radical change in the vehicle.

PVGIS gives an average over one year compared to what people have declared in production.

Afterwards, you can have sunshine, but it remains a trend over a production year.

As I said above, for "ceusses" who follow, he is waiting for countries like Romania to have them homologated.

Its goal is not to charge 100% in solar, but in general to be able to drive in solar.

He's not in a hurry, not like you.

Good/not good, we don't know, but it's still possible, where he is.

Why go to Norway in winter, and not to Morocco?

What is shocking?

Shock more than eating seasonal fruits and vegetables?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, yes, I see, it's not usual, so not good!

let's say that the Sun is not an energy available on demand.

to move an elephant like his, it is better to provide a backup system.

the average power to move a bus like that is around 50 kW.

In the absence of sun, flat battery, an 80 hp generator is required to drive.

You can also undersize the group, for example 20 Ch, but stop, load, restart cyclically.

Or don't be in a hurry. It is an alternative.

Or, simpler, to charge on the juice, quite simply, like an VE, which it is elsewhere.

but yes, with a 20 kW three-phase socket in the middle of the desert or the bush.

Or by being less demanding, a single-phase 5A, which will require 100h to take 100 kWh

If you look at his other videos, he actually charged three-phase in Morocco, twice, in campsites.

His thing is not to want to do 400km a day.

His trick is to stay several days in the same place.

The problem is that it's a prototype, and it doesn't know its limits yet.

He has 2 inverters, which he has to tweak, as soon as he reaches a certain voltage, no way to communicate the changes remotely.
