your charger is useless: it will work the same without him
of course there is a diode bridge which prevents the return of current, but nothing says that this bridge supports 220v: in normal operation it has only a few ten volts to hold ...

The charger only serves to initiate the excitation after a rheostat must be installed to adjust the voltage to the desired use!
For a 40-volt diode bridge, the inversion voltage is 10 times higher, therefore 400 volts.

What do you intend to power with this generator because you will have to convert it into an alternative?

the macine with direct current starts very easily at the first foutieme of volt ... the battery charger was only a means of measurement in separate excitation, really separate .. it is absolutely useless once the good connection is found!
and I hear that there is no guarantee that a normal 12v charger will hold 230v
if it held once without grilling so much the better for you but do not start again for nothing it will not necessarily hold all the shots

in fact I had synthesized all the advice received ... the charger was to create an excitement and I did not think that I was going to reach 180V
Now that I know the correct connection I no longer need the charger

for now I intend to install lighting in a barn ...
I was given this generator now remains to know how to run it
with wind or hydro or both
as for the conversion to AC it will be with a converter
