The solar plant 1ère ground started at Lunel
(src: Valeco)
The largest ground-mounted photovoltaic power plant in France was commissioned in Lunel, in the Hérault region.
The plant, which occupies an area of 15 000 m², offers a power of 500 kW. The 6 700 75W photovoltaic modules supplied by First Solar capture the exceptional sunshine of Languedoc Roussillon.

According to Valeco, which has been running the project since the 2005 summer, the plant represents the annual energy consumption of 300 homes.

The Valeco group has invested 2,4 million euros and received grants from the Languedoc Roussillon region.

Valeco currently operates 100 MW wind turbines and 20 MWp photovoltaic in construction and development. In total, Valeco claims an annual electrical production of 266 000 000 kWh, which is the annual requirement of more than 222 000 people. Its heat output is 80 000 000 thermal kWh.

: Cheesy: It would take 10 like that to run the engine of my extruder .... 5000 KW / h

: Cheesy: yes, where I work, there are at least 6 extruders PE, some larger, others smaller.
It would be fun to know the power consumption of my whole factory. :D
Yes, you read correctly, 5000 KW / h (not the motor of the extruder, and there is the rest ...)

1) Uh Just, are you sure it's 5 MW just for the engine? It's close to 7000 cv I think it's huge for an extruder (well I do not know much about it).

I mean, are you sure that in the 5MW there are no thermal resistances?

2) Otherwise + 1 with you: this power of PV is ridiculous! One of the 2 strasbourg incinerator with 21 000 turbine power kW ...

3) Lietseu use QUOTES and quote the SOURCE when you copy an info. Goods.

Uh LeJuste you're sure it's 5 MW just for the engine? It's close to 7000 cv I think it's huge for an extruder (well I do not know much about it).

It's my job to note the power consumption of the little one, so, yes, I'm sure of what I'm saying. (5200 kw / h exactly)
It took me two years to get used to starting this engine.
Each time I had hands that were shaking so the noise at startup is impressive. :D
