"Getting out of nuclear power is a question of survival" developed research on 16 pages in the magazine NEXUS May-June (n ° 74) by JP PETIT.
- nuclear fission
- Chernobyl and Fukushima disaster
- nuclear waste
- ITER
- magnetic necking
- solar energy (especially DESERTEC)
Once again, a nice educational analysis.

A WCLL system (water cooled lithium lead: a system comprising a liquid lithium lead mixture, cooled by pressurized water) is of the most extreme danger, since lithium lead is immediately explosive, if it is accidentally put on water contact,

certainly less than the 6000 tonnes of sodium cooled by Superphénix water, which cost much more than ITER, and fortunately stopped !!!! and who miraculously did not explode !!!!

In any case JP Petit has an enormous energy, much higher than what his health and physical capacities allow him !!

Tritium comes out in huge quantities, considered negligible, from nuclear power plants and from the Hague !!
invisible deaths !!

The chaotic instabilities of fusion plasmas, as for ITER, have prevented any realization of fusion for 50 years and given the recent thesis, it will be impossible to avoid and defeat them for hundreds of years !!!
It is the only problem of ITER, insoluble !!!
Much more insoluble than trying to prevent cyclones !!

Solar flares are a clear example, of much less hot plasma instabilities on the surface of the sun !!!!
The more we believe we control them, domesticate them, the more their power will be explosive and dangerous, when they get out of control, much worse than nuclear power plants, like H fusion bombs compared to Hiroshima Nagasaki's fission bombs !! !!

So when you think you have a fusion machine, it will be much more dangerous than nuclear power plants !!!

It is certain that ITER is a huge waste, a crazy technological gamble, insoluble in reality, and which if we believe that we will succeed, will explode in catastrophe with the energies at stake.

This observation is a sad reality from the inside of lobbies and pseudo-scientists who inevitably lead us to Fukushima-Chernobyl type disasters in France, in addition to the waste of ITER:
You have to understand one thing in this world of techno-science of great magnitude. To make a career in these spheres, we do a thesis, we publish some papers, up to about forty. But if in the following years we remain with our noses in our test tubes, goodbye to the career! The rest must be played out through "human relations", discourse, management, actions in political spheres. Scientific papers, we continue to sign, many, but simply adding his name to a work carried out by "collaborators". Such is, for example, Gabriel Marbach, whose incompetence in matters of plasma I know perfectly well. However, taking over from Michel Chatelier, he became director of the Institute for Research on Fusion by Magnetic Confinement.

About these "disruptions" I will only give a "very popular" evocation. Tokamaks are extremely complex devices, infinitely more complicated than fission reactors. Projects like ITER have been somewhat protected by their complexity. There are excellent specialists in France on these subjects. But, if they are not complicit in the biggest technoscience scam in history, they are gagged, until they reach retirement. There does not exist, apart from your servant, scientist, free of speech, of interlocutor able to embrace all the phenomena which prevail in these machines, which are 100% MHD.

Tokamaks are inherently unstable machines, and have been since the beginning, since the XNUMXs. The concept of "controlled fusion" is a myth. Read Cédric Reux's thesis to convince yourself. Certainly, this subject is scientifically fascinating. It is a mine of theses, studies, countless acrobatics, sophisticated measures, technological challenges. As an example, I would remind you that the ITER magnetization system will garner 51 gigajoules, the kinetic energy of the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier (45.000 tonnes) launched at 177 km / h

Read all the common sense of JP Petit posted by cuicui on the mystical and mythical madness of ITER:
http://www.jp-petit.org/Besoin_Aide.htm

By taking an image that the general public can understand, the plasma of a tokamak is like a burning dragon holding its tail between its teeth. If he lets go, he immediately squirms like a madman in his metal prison and his mouth will bite the first object on the wall.

Hence a disruptive discharge whose intensity equals that of the plasma current: a million amps. This melts the part that receives this energy, volatilizes it.

Laplace's forces twist elements of this wall (photos in the thesis of Cédric Reux, whose humor you will appreciate in passing.

In a tokamak like Tore Supra, there have been many disruptions, some of which put the machine out of order for quite a while. In this case, the experimenter hears a loud "boom". Then we open the beast and sweep the debris. We change the damaged parts. In Tore Supra, there was no fusion (the temperature reached was never sufficient), so there is no part of the machine which is "activated" by an emission of neutrons, or returned radioactive. As Reux notes in his conclusion, in a large tokamak it will be quite different. In ITER, the disruptions will be lightning strikes of 15 million amperes (150 million in DEMO, which will only be designed to produce only 700 megawatts of electricity)

Another phenomenon is added. You know dragons breathe fire, it's well known. They open their mouths and a violent jet comes out. In a disruption, it is analogous. The "dragon's mouth" is a tube of magnetic field where the latter, varying rapidly, behaves like an accelerator of particles, of electrons (compare it with the magnetic arches of solar flares). In no time at all, electrons in the plasma acquire a speed equal to 98% of that of light. They become relativistic, "decoupled" (with respect to the ions). Their energy reaches values ranging from 10 MeV to 40 MeV.

Add to this infernal mixture an avalanche effect known since 1978. This one, we know at least how to model it. High-energy electrons interact with "thermal" electrons and impart energy to them. These, in turn, etc ...

On Tore Supra the amplification coefficient is 10 ^ 4

On ITER it will be 10 ^ 16 (it is calculated. See Reux's thesis)

These high energy electrons do not deposit their energy superficially. They are able to penetrate deep into wall structures. There is first the "first wall", one centimeter thick, made of a toxic and carcinogenic element, beryllium. Then, immediately behind, the "tritogenic" elements (which recreate tritium from lithium, bombarded by fusion neutrons). In DEMO, these elements will be just behind this wall of beryllium, one centimeter thick. For example a mixture of lithium-lead, in the liquid state, cooled by water.

It's not physics, it's megalomania and .. of politics. We know that a great French physicist weighed with all his weight for the machine to be implanted in France. This great physicist is Jacques Chirac. .

On the phone, Gregoire told me "they will have five years to solve the problem of disruptions". But how could that be possible when we have never been blessed to dominate this phenomenon, even to understand it, for more than 60 years!?!

Physicists and engineers will have fun for decades. Paid payment, they will publish, travel will meet. And you, poor taxpayers, will pay the bill.

This "controlled fusion" energy path is a dead end. Because this merger, we never controlled it and we are not ready to do it. Quite simply because turbulence is a natural behavior of all systems, a dissippative behavior. Wanting to operate without turbulence at all costs comes down to wanting to fight against one of the most natural and fundamental aspects of nature (which allows the switch to fuel to burn in your internal combustion engine, and the clouds of the sky to control the meteorology of Earth, etc.).

Wanting to control the plasma of a tokamak is like hoping to evaporate water in a pan, by heating from below, but by deciding that we will refrain from any convection, any movement of this water, any turbidity. One could then place sensors detecting the slightest upward movement, and ensure that it is thwarted by again reducing the heating to the part of the bottom of the pan which is concerned, where the ancestry is born.

The larger the pan and the more intense the heating, the more the act of countering this liquid turbidity will become acrobatic, and in the end perfectly impossible.

Hunt the natural, it gallops

A tokamak without turbulence is a sun without solar flares, a weather without wind or clouds, an ocean without currents.

So ITER is more than 16 billion € wasted to make a huge firecracker with nuclear fission which will self-destruct in dangerous fumes !!!!

When researchers run their tokamaks, they measure as many things as possible, parameters. But as they do not know how these disruptions take place, what is, as Master Panglosse would say, "their sufficient reason", they contented themselves with recording these values, for decades, like blind meteorologists, incapable of looking at the weather. sky, who would live locked up in stations, would note the temperature, the pressure, the hygrometric degree. They would observe that for certain values, and a certain evolution of the said parameters, weather events would occur.

We notice.

In the tokamak, we did the same, by constituting a database, the foundation of an "expert system". When certain parameters evolve "in a certain way", would say the late Fernand Reynaud, we know that a disruption will occur and that then it is necessary to lower the mode, regularly. A sudden cut of the plasma current would cause a catastrophe.

The plasma is also smothered by injecting it under high pressure, cold helium, or argon, through nozzles (thesis by Cédric Reux).

Tore Supra has its database, used to conduct experiments, built from decades of "shots". It all happens so fast that you wouldn't imagine an operator acting on the dial of a rheostat.

The computer takes care of everything

JET also has its own. Try to run experiments on one machine by driving it with the other's database: hello damage.

What database will allow ITER to pilot, asks Cédric Reux? How will we build it? How many successive disasters cost?

But do not worry. We must first build the machine, then we will advise. The first plasma will be in ten or fifteen years. The first ramp-up in 20 years. The first experiments with tritium in thirty. A lot of the guys who push so hard for this project to take hold will be retired before the first "shots".

The (private) opinion of André Grégoire (who must consider such a sentence as the very expression of wisdom):

- In my opinion, we will build ITER and it will go no further.

By the way tens of billions of euros will have been squandered, thousands of types, which we will not know what to do next, will have been paid to conduct experiments that will only lead to failure. An entire region will have been disfigured to resemble a completely bogus research center.

When the failure is obvious, André Grégoire (and I doubtless), we will be six feet underground. Never mind, I wouldn't have liked to sign his damn report. Afterwards, personally, I would have found it hard to look at myself in a mirror.

I will not surprise you by telling you that the majority of elected officials, municipal councils and Regional Council combined, are strongly in favor of this “ITER in Provence” project which will “energize the region”, by populating the fields with swimming pools and tennis courts, giving rise to juicy real estate operations. The same overwhelming majority among European parliamentarians, responsible for validating the extension of the bidgetary envelope from 5 to 15 billion euros (to begin with). They went down to Cadarache in June to hear the fine speeches of the supporters of the project. Their scientific level is lower than that of an average Science et Vie reader. And, of course, no strong opponent was admitted during this meeting.

As for the "Greens", they flutter. Politics is a full-time job.

I tried in vain to chase after them. Might as well try to catch butterflies.

Last precision: two weeks ago I went to Manosque, to the headquarters of the local branch of the regional newspaper La Provence. I gave the journalist Fossart a copy of Reux's thesis, and provided him with some basic explanations. He promised to produce an article on this topic after the Public Inquiry Commission issued its opinion and report, which is now the case. If someone sees this paper appear in the regional edition "Alps", let me know. In his last article, after having attended a meeting of the Public Inquiry Commission, where I was present and where I had unrolled a lot of argument, he had laid an article titled "ITER: the antinuclear ones draw their last cartridges ".

A month ago, MEP Michèle Rivasi tried to open the doors of the newspapers Le Monde, Le Canard Enchaîné and Mediapart. Faced with the shootout encountered, she gave up. I've been in the news since

Yes, Dedeleco. Note that this instability resulting in very high temperatures deteriorating the wall of ITER, on the contrary constitutes a advantage for Z-machines and power stations with magnetic necking (requiring only a mechanical enclosure and not a magnetic confinement, given discontinuous explosions). A high temperature favors the fusion of hydrogen-boron fuel.

This summer, I passed in front of the Cadarache site, the construction site has started.
In the event of an accident, this will be one of the most beautiful regions of France which will be contaminated!

Latest news (see the beginning of the article)
http://www.jp-petit.org/nouv_f/videos_l ... videos.htm
ITER funding is maintained. It is a great way to drain credits and prevent them from being used for studying other energy sources.
