Strange flow temperature on Okofen boiler

by FabOko02 » 13/11/21, 13:06

Hello everybody

We bought and moved into a house 2 and a half years ago.
The house dates from the 1980s and is located in 02. The insulation seems rather average. The surface is 260m² spread over 2 floors + a heated basement. Heating is by radiator. There are a total of 17 radiators including 3 in the basement.
This house is equipped with an Okofen PES25 + DHW boiler, a 7-ton textile silo and a room sensor. In summer, the boiler is shut off and the DHW runs on electricity.

We arrived at the end of winter in the 1st year (2019) so the pellet consumption was low. In addition, this year, winter was short so let's forget about this year.

We consumed around 7 tonnes of pellets in the second year. The room sensor was positioned in a corridor facing a radiator. It was rather cold throughout the house so to reduce the effect of the radiator, I reduced its operation by the thermostatic valve. I think that is already a mistake on my part. The room sensor is now positioned in the living room.
Around this time, I started to read the different forums talking about Okofen boilers on https://www.econologie.com and forums.futura-sciences.com. One user mentioned csv files recoverable via http. So I, through a Raspberry, started to recover the files every day to be able to analyze them.

By looking in the CSV files, I realize that at home, the flow temperature in the heating circuit is not permanently the result of the theoretical calculation of the water law but a value which is 8 ° C. either 30 ° C or 60 ° C or the famous calculation (roughly because the correction of the room sensor is 5 so mathematically, I do not find the same values). In addition, the temperature of the boiler frequently drops below 60 ° C and I'm afraid for its lifespan. The comfort period is from 5 a.m. to 30 a.m. and from
16h to 22h.

Here is what I observe:

I do not know the default values of the boiler parameters. I do have documentation but it does not indicate them. I imagine the installer must have made some adjustments to make it work at home, but I don't know what he touched.

Here are the current settings:
    Boiler Min temperature: 60 ° C
    Installation Max temperature: 75 ° C
    Max flow T: 60 ° C
    T start Min: 30 ° C
    Slope: 1.4
    Foot of curve: 35 ° C
    limit ext comfort: 18 ° C
    reduced outdoor limit: 14 ° C
    Anticipation time: 90min
    Ambient horn: 5
    Power Level: 25 (I'm assuming 25 kW).

Are there others missing that I forgot and that are important? I have access to the technician menu via the code.
Does this mode of operation seem normal to you? By traversing different forum, I haven't seen curves like this.

Thank you in advance ^^

I did not find any subject in this forum which is identical to mine.

Hello,

If your boiler is connected, I can take a look at it, it will be more meaningful for me.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately, my boiler is not connected. I'll look at what to do to make it temporarily accessible.

Otherwise, send me your cvs and png files by configuring them like this:

Your files are recoverable with a usb key directly behind the display board.

Please tell me the exact model of your Pellematic, its commissioning date and its firmware : Wink:
(Probably a version close to 2.09 or 3.xx)

EDIT:
The fact that the setpoint goes from 30 to 8 ° regularly indicates that an element gives the order to the boiler to cut off the heating circulator.
Like the room thermostat configured with a hysteresis that is too low for example, or a water curve that is much too high.

I can't upload my csv file from yesterday but in xlsx, it works.

The message: "The file extension is incorrect: touch_20211116.csv".

Here is the file:

touch_20211116.xlsx
(423.24 KB) Downloaded times 352

And yesterday's curve with the requested fields:

The back plate on the boiler reads PE32SZB (the invoice PES25 8-25Kw). The firmware is Touch V2.09 24082017.
The boiler was installed at the end of 2018.

Thank you, but your file has the titles translated into fr, something I have never seen except once I went through my personal tools.

I would absolutely need the original (ditto for the png) otherwise I will have to do everything by hand.

Here is the file (still in xlsx because otherwise impossible to upload):

touch_20211116.xlsx
(307.27 KB) Downloaded times 358

EDIT:
I have configured the boiler with the fields indicated above so that it generates the graphics in PNG automatically.

Hello,

I have just started studying the files.

In the heating range, the boiler goes continuously below 60 °, which causes the heating circulator to stop, which starts up again as soon as 60 ° is reached.
And so on… The yoyo is permanent.

To be continued !

Before / after, we are much closer to normal operation when the parameters are adapted :D
