Understanding the covid test (serological, pcr, antigenic) of Sars-Cov2 (and its variants)

How to stay healthy and prevent risks and consequences on your health and public health. occupational disease, industrial risks (asbestos, air pollution, electromagnetic waves ...), company risk (workplace stress, overuse of drugs ...) and individual (tobacco, alcohol ...).

But yes, it's been a long time, the CDC announced the end of the authorization of PCRs for the end of the year ... I had made the history : Arrowd:

After 31.12.2021, CDC will withdraw the request to the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for authorization of the RT-PCR Diagnostic Panel, [...] the CDC provides this advance notice to clinical laboratories in order to have sufficient time to select and implement one of the many alternatives authorized by the FDA.

Visit the FDA website for a list of authorized COVID-19 diagnostic methods. For a summary of the performance of molecular methods approved by the FDA with an FDA reference panel, visit this page.

In preparation for this change, the CDC is recommending clinical labs and testing sites that have used the CDC 2019-nCoV RT-PCR test and begin their transition to another FDA-cleared COVID-19 test. The CDC encourages laboratories to consider adopting a multiplexed method that can facilitate the detection and differentiation of SARS-CoV-2 viruses and influenza. Such testing can make it easier to continue testing for influenza and SARS-CoV-2 and can save time and resources as influenza season approaches. Laboratories and testing sites should validate and verify their selected test at their facility before starting clinical testing.

4. Common sense immunology

As an immunologist, I trust a biological model, namely that of the human organism, which has built an adaptive and proven immune system. [...] if we do a corona PCR test on an immune person, it is not a virus that is detected, but a small broken part of the viral genome. The test comes back positive as long as there are tiny broken parts of the virus left. Even if infectious viruses are long dead, a corona test can come back positive, because the PCR method multiplies even a tiny fraction of the viral genetic material.

there is absolutely no reference that says PCR covid tests give a positive result with influenza. Mixing with the discussion of the number of PCR cycles, "false positives" are those who test positive when the virus has been mostly destroyed, but bits of RNA remain. It has nothing to do with the flu.
