With 11.5 million cases in the world, Iraq, Indonesia and the Philippines enter the group of countries with meteoric growth. With the reconfigurations decreed in several cities (countries), the coming week will be very painful for many.
The 12 th million will be reached sooner than expected.

Most worrying, from my point of view as a simple observer, is that the latitude and the hemisphere, do not seem to be a decisive criterion for development or not. In short, it does not seem really "seasonal", in the sense of weather conditions.

The article says:
"Baltimore researchers examined climate data from 50 cities around the world with or without significant spread of CoVid-19. Eight large cities with a high population density and a large spread of CoVid-19 (from West to East: Seattle, United States; Madrid, Spain; Paris, France; Milan, Italy; Qom, Iran; Wuhan, China; Daegu, South Korea; Tokyo, Japan) were compared to 42 cities that were not or only slightly affected by the pandemic. Data were collected from early January to March 10, 2020.

It seems a bit old compared to current findings, including the fact that there are large epidemic foci in both hemispheres at the same time.

It's not "at the same time”It has only just started in the southern hemisphere, (since the winter there is from June 21 to September 22) ... : Wink:

"At the same time", that means for example yesterday 5/07. Take a look at the numbers.

Yes, huh, or how to protect yourself from the denial in which you lock yourself in.

No, no, no, it is absolutely not “at the same time” from an epidemiological point of view!
https://books.google.ch/books/about/La_ ... edir_esc=y

We will have to see if from October to January, the pandemic goes back from south to north, if so and always with the same virulence, then there yes, we will be “bad” ...

There are several studies that point in this direction, but it will be more a reality when the virus "is well installed".
1. The colder it is, the drier the air, that is to say poor in water vapor (water vapor is invisible, it is a gas; unlike microdroplets which are liquid ). Dry air - but not too much - promotes the circulation of microdroplets and airborne particles in the air; while humid air thwarts it.

2. When it is cold, our respiratory mucous membranes are attacked by the cold and parched (it is in winter that there is the most nosebleeds or epistaxis), which favors the viral infection.

3. During the cold season, we gather and we concentrate much more in poorly ventilated premises (public transport, bars, performance halls, sports halls), than in other seasons, which promotes human-to-human contamination.
The results suggest that this virus is able to cause epidemics at any time of the year in the absence of measures of social distancing or lasting immunity, but that autumn and winter are more favorable seasons. a significant increase in the number of cases. https://presse.inserm.fr/le-sars-cov-2- ... ent/39550/

How mediapart has managed to mix the two main current issues of the day: covid and racism. I already don't quite understand the title !!

Covid: double the increase in deaths among the foreign-born
JULY 7, 2020 BY HÉLÉNA BERKAOUI

A note from INSEE published Tuesday notes an "excess mortality", in the midst of a crisis, among people under 65 born abroad. All ages combined, it is among individuals born in Africa (excluding the Maghreb) that the number of deaths increased most dramatically: + 114%.

So in addition to being gerontophobic, this virus would be exonophobic? : Cheesy: : Cheesy:

None of this reality is just linked certainly to lifestyles ... let's say ... more lax ... what what to say this is racist ??? Certainly for some trouducs ... : Mrgreen:
