Humanitarian catastrophes (including resource wars and conflicts), natural, climate and industrial (except nuclear or oil forum fossil and nuclear energy). Pollution of the sea and oceans.

What is serious is above all that the delivery of helicopter-borne snow is, a priori, profitable economically!

So it is not so much the act that must be condemned as the why!

One wonders by what miracle this profitability is effective, if it really is.

Well someone paid the bill for the chopper right? Because there was a profit for him ...

After the profitability in public spending is .... uh no I will not finish this sentence : Mrgreen:

It’s probably very silly to move snow this way to have fun with it afterwards .... (although the snowcats who run at night on the fields must also swallow a lot of fuel).

However, I find it hard to imagine what you can do with 50 tonnes of snow in a resort?!?! It's really that slab, it's ridiculous to use a helicopter for such a small pile !!!

Fortunately, they stopped at 50 tonnes ...

50 Tons with a density of 0,1 is still 500 m3 or 5000 m2 at 10 cm thick ... or 1 ha at 5cm ...

For those interested in the eco balance of skiing:

https://www.econologie.com/bilan-carbone-station-ski/

You will see that the snowcats and ski lifts ... it's almost peanuts ... but the study does not take into account the snow from helicopter !! : Cheesy: : Cheesy: : Cheesy:

Yes Fortunately !

Christophe wrote:50 Tons with a density of 0,1 is still 500 m3 or 5000 m2 at 10 cm thick ... or 1 ha at 5cm ...

But it's absolutely ridiculous !!!

10cm?!?! An edge ... And there are stones!

5000m2 ... you speak of a track !!!

And then 0.1 density is for light super cool snow (not stirred, picked up, packed ... Etc)

............................

No really ... This is a ridiculous operation, for an exorbitant financial cost, a zero play effect, and a distressing ecological impact.

Yes it's ridiculous ... I was just answering your question about the possible equivalence of 50 T ...

I took 0,1 because the density varies between 0,02 and 0,3 ... but whatever the actual density it does not change the ridiculousness of the thing!

Something that must nevertheless be profitable for some !!

Well just ask them: the Town Hall of Luchon-Superbagnères has a phone number right?

Here it is: 05 61 79 97 00

http://www.luchon-superbagneres.com/

Another: 05 61 79 21 21
