Thank you for the reminder.
Regarding the 3 point, none of the kits on sale does not control the moment of water injection (which can only be done with a system closely related to the operation of the fuel injection).
From there to fear that they do as much harm as good ...

Yes except that of BMW ... otherwise we can consult the patents of other manufacturers ... There are tens!
In physics or chemistry, it is very possible that an effect (not sought) cancels or minimizes another (sought) ...

This can indeed be a problem. On my R19 and a regular course on false flat of several kilometers, I managed to have a "surprising" result. On this same route, I consumed less on the way up than on the way down . Climbing around 90km / h the engine is rather in charge and the conso rather good, while going down, it seems that the reactor / steam is not at the right temperature and the conso was a little higher (the engine was running less well) ....
On our "rustic" Pantones, there is a lack of a "better match" for the quantity of steam / load to always remain on the saving side.

Reason is the madness of the strongest. The reason for the less strong it is madness.

Re: Which Water Injection Kit to buy?
It does not surprise me Flytox because for the injection of water to work it takes a high combustion chamber temperature!
This is one of the fundamental criteria ... and that's why the tractors are the only truly spectacular results: a tractor engine really works really well (well, the old ones .. .the modern ones with their hydrostatic transmission may be limited)
This is why there are so many disappointments with water injection: in town with 80 hp or more under the hood, the room temperature is never quite high, especially in "eco driving" mode which is, in principle, the mode. driving people looking for kits.
I remember that it takes about 30cv to drive at 100 km / h ...
Do you think that if we launched a crowdfunding campaign to develop an effective water injection kit, would it have a chance to succeed?

I limited myself to the generic kits installed afterwards.Christophe wrote:Yes except that of BMW ..
In the case of an engine "designed for", this is obviously beneficial (it suffices not to inject water when you are not in the right conditions to do "as badly" as the engine without fuel injection. water )

Re: Which Water Injection Kit to buy?
This could be on kits in 2ieme also rises ... a good engine with the right tools of analysis and diagnosis would arrive there. To do well you need a reprogramming of the original engine mapping in addition to a map of the water injection! It's not nothing to do ...
Obviously all this would "boost" the price quickly for a result of "only" 20 to 30% ... in short, let the manufacturers do it or wait for a price per liter of 5 € ...

The old mowers also because saving fuel was not essential at the time.Christophe wrote: a tractor engine that works really well (well, the old ones ... the modern ones with their hydrostatic transmission may be limited)
The "gain in power and consumption" (according to the amateurs) was obtained by a small onion adjustment at a given speed. A true comparative measurement with the same otherwise optimized engines could have confirmed whether there was advantage or not.
The BMW system is different or otherwise not in principle
So, it allows to gain power without increasing the weight of the engine ...water injectors are arranged in the intake manifold of the engine, just upstream of the intake valves, in the immediate vicinity of the combustion chambers. By evaporating, the injected water absorbs energy - this is called the latent heat of vaporization - which cools, and therefore, increases the density of air entering the engine.
The end of the clatter
The combustion chambers thus receive more oxygen, which allows an increase in the injected fuel flow, and thereby an almost proportional increase in the torque, and therefore the power developed. In addition, the cooling of the intake air delays the occurrence of knock, which increases the engine compression ratio (from 9,5 to 11: 1 on the 3 cylinders 1,5 turbo liter presented) and retain the advance to optimal ignition in favor of efficiency.
For the results there are only the builder ads, not seen comparative test with comparative consumption measurement.
The brand will produce only 700 copies, so we will not know more.

Re: Which Water Injection Kit to buy?
No we will not really know more ...
In a gas turbine here is what the water injection gives: understanding water-injection / combustion-wet-explanations-by-remi-guillet-t5794-40.html # p347335
The 3ieme column is interesting EVERYTHING is to the advantage of water injection but it requires very large amount of water 110% of the mass of the gas (and it is a turbine I remember) ...
