There is worse than France, but for them it is understandable, given the poverty.
The Philippines is in a measles crisis with at least 70 dead, mostly children, last month.

In January, 4 302 cases of measles were reported in the country, an increase of 122% over the same period last year. The epidemic has been attributed to adverse reactions to vaccination.

The epidemic continued until February. Last week, a measles epidemic was declared in Metro Manila, populated by 12 million people, many of whom live in poverty-stricken slums. This follows 196 cases reported in January, against 20 only at the same time last year. In Manila, 55 children under four years old have died of measles since the beginning of the year.

Measles cases are at their highest since 20 years in Europe, as the anti-vaccine movement grows

The Ministry of Health subsequently also declared a red alert epidemic in Luzon and parts of the Visayas.

"We are declaring an outbreak as the number of cases has increased in recent weeks and to strengthen surveillance of new cases and to alert mothers and caregivers to be more vigilant," said Francisco Duque, secretary of health , in a press release.

It follows reports from the Department of Health andthe World Health Organization (WHO), which reported that as of December 2018, more than 20 cases of measles had been reported in the Philippines, an increase of 000% from the previous year.

Measles is a highly contagious disease, but the immunity of the population can be reached if more than 95% of the population is vaccinated. However, in the Philippines, vaccinations currently represent only 55% according to UNICEF, 15% less than last year. This was mainly attributed to the fear of inoculations.

Lotta Sylwander, UNICEF Representative in the Philippines, said UNICEF was "deeply concerned" about the epidemic.

“In the Philippines, immunization has declined sharply from 88% in 2014 to 73% in 2017, leaving 2,5 million children under five unvaccinated against measles,” Sylwander said. "There has been a noticeable reluctance of parents to immunize their children on time."

UNICEF said that after growing epidemics in the Philippines, they were assisting local and national authorities in a national emergency vaccination campaign. "Child deaths and measles-related diseases, a vaccine-preventable disease, are unacceptable," said Sylwander.

The measles crisis in the Philippines has worsened since the beginning of last year, following a scandal surrounding a dengue vaccination that made parents reluctant to vaccinate their children. Dengvaxia, which has been administered to schoolchildren across the country, has been accused of rendering children susceptible to a more severe form of the disease. Links have been established with the deaths of several children, even if nothing has ever been proven.

According to data from the Office of Epidemiology, of 70 people who have died of measles since the start of the year, 79% were not vaccinated. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/ ... ing-blamed

we can start again a point by point analysis on this article, but as I do not read English it settles the question. We can just remind that vaccination in poor countries is not effective in itself since it is according to the cases and regions, the social level, the missing food.

As a reminder, the WHO had warned against the risk of vaccines moving measles to more precocity to the onset of the disease and its movement to adulthood and that was not lacking. For example:
MANILA At least seventy people, mostly children under five years, have died of measles in the Philippines since the beginning of the year, said the Department of National Health. In total, 4.302 cases of measles were counted across the country, he added. Some 34% of patients were between one and four years old, while 27% of patients were less than nine months old. The Department of Health states that 79% of people who did not survive had not been vaccinated against the disease. The Minister of Health Francisco Duque has asked the public to trust vaccines again who have repeatedly proved their effectiveness against this type of disease.

A reminder can not hurt, except for the irreducible of forum : Twisted:
For a scientist, what attitude to adopt against anti-science that we know in bad faith, motivated by greed or notoriety? Let's start with an example, that of anti-vaccines. There is no doubt that they represent a danger to public health. Can we prevent them from expressing themselves? In my opinion, no. With 41% of people who believe that vaccines are not safe (1), there is no other way to restore confidence than to patiently demonstrate that not getting vaccinated is a danger to oneself and others, an attempt censorship would probably strengthen the distrust. In any case, it is impossible physically. But we can only regain confidence by fighting the bad faith of the opponents of vaccination, without losing sight of the fact that the latter are opponents of fair debate, and that if they could, they would settle everything in court. http://imposteurs.over-blog.com/2019/02 ... rnent.html

Admitted by the FDA agency: the vaccines recommended for pregnant women by the government are untested and not licensed
US FDA admits government recommends use of untested and unregistered vaccines for pregnant women

By "Children Health Defense" - Health Impact News, 11 February 2019

Confession from the FDA agency: vaccines recommended to pregnant women by the government are untested and unapproved
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said, "As a nation, we can no longer claim that our Trust Agencies protect our children. It is time to hold the Federal Agencies to account. "

WASHINGTON, DC Feb. 11, 2019 - In response to a FOIA lawsuit, the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) admitted for the first time that government agencies, including the CDC recommend vaccines for pregnant women that have not been FDA-approved for pregnant women, nor tested for safety in clinical trials.

The lawsuit filed by Defense Counsel for Children's Health Protection lawyer Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., on behalf of the Informed Consent Action Network (ICAN), a vaccine safety advocacy group, was aimed at all clinical trial data used by the FDA to approve influenza vaccines for pregnant women.

The FDA's succinct response: "We do not have any records that match your requests. "

Manufacturers of flu vaccines and Tdap warn against their use by pregnant women, because their safety has never been established. The leaflets explain that it is not known whether these vaccines "will harm the unborn child" and that the data are insufficient in relation to the use of these vaccines, particularly in relation to the risks that could be associated with vaccines. .

The regulations of the FDA formally prohibit pharmaceutical companies to market products for "unauthorized" uses. Companies that do not comply with these rules are regularly prosecuted criminally and civilly and pay billions of dollars in lawsuits and regulations.

The CDC, however, has been actively recommending influenza vaccination for any trimester of pregnancy since 2004 and has recommended that pregnant women be vaccinated against Tdap (for tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) since 2011.

The FDA is responsible for vaccine safety and licensing, but in newly released court documents, it admits it has no safety data to support pregnancy recommendations. The FDA website states that it has never officially approved vaccines specifically intended to be used during pregnancy to protect infants.

General recommendations regarding vaccination during pregnancy is a dangerous proposition because of the ability of vaccination to activate a maternal immune response likely to damage the developing brain of the fetus, as infections sometimes do during pregnancy.

In 2008, neuroscientist Paul Patterson warned, "Even if it happens less than 1% of the time, vaccinating a whole population of pregnant women could touch thousands of children ... »

Long-term safety studies were not designed to detect fetal lesions associated with the vaccine, but the Kaiser study conducted in 2017 with 45.000 Women (published in JAMA Pediatrics) showed a high risk of congenital malformations and a risk 20% higher autism in children whose mothers received an influenza vaccine during the first trimester of pregnancy.

After the authors applied a statistical correction that reduced the significant association, the famous UCLA statistician, Sander Greenland, criticized the methodologically "inappropriate" decision, noting that researchers in pharmaceutical companies used this technique when they did not like a result and "want to see if they can achieve other results by" getting rid of "the problem"

CDC data show that women who received some influenza vaccines from 2010 to 2012 had 7,7 times more risk of miscarriage than women who have not received these vaccines. The CDC published the study in "Vaccine", but omitted the conclusions its press release, leaving pregnant women ignorant of the real risks associated with vaccines.

CHD President Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. notes that most influenza vaccines given to pregnant women still contain (for storage) mercury-based thiomersal. Thiomersal is recognized in California's 65 proposal as a toxic product for reproduction. Exposure to this product during pregnancy can cause learning and behavioral problems for offspring. Tdap contains aluminum that the FDA regulates as a toxin in parenteral nutrition, but not in vaccines !

The fact that the CDC recommends vaccines that the FDA has not allowed to use in pregnant women following another forced disclosure by an ICAN / CHD lawsuit. The previous court action required the HHS to provide documentation on compliance with the legal requirements for regular reviews of the safety of children's vaccines and reports to Congress.

The response from the Ministry of Health (= HHS) states: "searches did not locate the records corresponding to your request," indicates that HHS has not complied - for more than 30 years - requirements for regular reviews of vaccine safety and did not communicate to Congress measures to improve immunization safety. The National Child Trauma Injury Act set the requirements, while essentially eliminating the legal liability of manufacturers for the damage associated with childhood vaccines.

Nearly 78.000 people have been vaccinated against Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo since August 8 2018, according to the latest assessment of the Congolese government. Either "thousands of lives" saved, said the Minister of Health, Oly Ilunga Kalenga.

The vaccine used in the DRC is rVSV-ZEBOV, developed by the Public Health Agency of Canada and manufactured by the American Merck. A vaccine still experimental but whose use has been approved by the Congolese Ethics Committee 19 May 2018. In France, an 30 August 2018 decree authorizes it by way of derogation for professionals traveling to an epidemic zone.

Good tolerance
RVSV-ZEBOV is the most advanced hemorrhagic fever vaccine candidate that has made over 11.000 deaths in West Africa between 2013 and 2015. It is a live vaccine, the vector of which is vesicular stomatitis virus (a disease that mainly affects cattle, pigs and horses). This modified vector hosts a gene encoding a protein of the Zaire strain of Ebola virus (one of five identified strains of the virus, but the most lethal and responsible for most known outbreaks). http://sante.lefigaro.fr/article/rdc-le ... es-preuves

The funny joke. How a vaccine trial can save thousands of human life even though it is only a test, do not confuse will be saved or will be may be saved, do not put the cart before the horse ... or before the tractor!

DRC: the Ebola vaccine is in the process of to prove himself
Good tolerance
RVSV-ZEBOV is the most advanced candidates vaccines against haemorrhagic fever that has made over 11.000 dead in West Africa between 2013 and 2015. And what does the article say? that the nursing staff has not been sick since 2 years and a half. Ouaah! That's performance! They should consult the international archives to see that during real epidemics, vaccinated or not, the epidemic is causing casualties at all and even more so among the vaccinated.

The vaccine has shown its effectiveness and good tolerance in about fifteen trials Africa, the United States and Europe. A study published in December 2016 in The Lancet showed, on nearly 6000 Guinean patients, efficacy at 100% from the 10e day after the injection. "It was found that a number of vaccinated persons developed the infectionHowever, Dr. Éric Delaporte, researcher at IRD, nuances. But "we have never had an effective 100% vaccine whatever the pathology. And the profit remains higher. However, this can complicate the control of the epidemic. "
So just a little corner calculation!
The Congolese population in 2018 is 5 046 536
The vaccine was applied to 78.000 people either 1,5%. No figures on the results obtained for all the inhabitants, since, as for smallpox, some populations react positively and others negatively (WHO report) The smallpox vaccine has been experimented on hundreds of millions of dollars. individuals from around the world over more than a century, to finally realize that the vaccine was more dangerous than the disease to cure and even that it generated other diseases called vaccines.
Then " an efficacy at 100% from the 10e day after the injection. Pasteur had become the specialist of the permanent change of the periods of supposed efficiency and scratching out everything that did not fit into his creed. But " "It was found that a number of vaccinated people developed the infectionHowever, Dr. Éric Delaporte, researcher at IRD, nuances. But "we have never had an effective vaccine at 100% whatever the pathology. And the profit remains higher. However, this can complicate the control of the epidemic. "
As with all kinds of vaccines invented before this one and those that will follow.
So effective at 100% or never seen an efficiency at 100%? and where is the higher efficiency measured?
How to navigate? Vaccinating selected individuals for their good health will inevitably demonstrate that they will not have an Ebola infection (vaccinated or not) as shown by the multitude of statistics around the world for all vaccines. this "success" to the vaccine as Pasteur with his pseudo-rabies vaccine that has done more deaths than cures, assuming that there has never been one since most people who are bitten are not killed by sick animals. Professor Peter, a real doctor, has shown numbers in hand that this pasteurism was a huge scam that took a global dimension.
So again an announcement effect more, it becomes a banal! but one point remains interesting:

The strategy to use is also under discussion. "Ring vaccination", which involves vaccinating people around cases identified as a "barrier" to the virus, should be favored, WHO reaffirmed in an August recommendation. 2018. But the instability of the political situation in the DRC may require a purely geographical approach. A paradigm shift that "to be effective" will require "many more doses," worried a group of international experts early February in The Lancet.
WHO remembers the case of smallpox, where patients were isolated to avoid spread to the environment which is here called ring.
A simple "quarantine" much more effective than expensive vaccinations that the State of Congo like other African countries do not have the means to set up financially.

poor little unhappy man abandoned by his usual media to orders. Yet another fantasy because apart from a few independent media, so extremely rare, the reverse is happening. and it is with this kind of "fake news" that you intend to make believe that the speech that you hold and defend is scientific? No wonder you [*] are regularly ridiculed by real scientists who have not lowered their pants in front of BP!

[*] Like the sect of AFIS and its pseudo scientists who enact some rules of common sense but they do not follow themselves. Ah, the funny ones!
