The scientific consensus, shared by all health agencies at the international level, is the subject of a challenge on the part of certain associations (see our file on the subject [1]). These affirm the existence of a "chronic form" of the disease which would be resistant to all the recommended treatments and recommend long antibiotic treatments. More generally, “Lyme doctors”, self-proclaimed doctors specialists in this disease, offer all kinds of non-validated treatments, often without effect and sometimes dangerous [2].
Several studies have shown that, in reality, most patients who are convinced that they have a "chronic form of Lyme disease" do in reality, for the most part, not have Lyme disease, but suffer from 'other pathologies [3] [4].

We really swim in paradox
Dr. Amir Khadir wants to cure patients who feel abandoned by other doctors. He prescribed antibiotics to them in spades, without even having scientific proof of the existence of the chronic form of Lyme disease. https://www.lapresse.ca/actualites/2019 ... teur-k.php

Things are moving slowly on tick-borne illnesses, including infection with the Borrelia bacteria that cause Lyme disease.

A site now makes it possible to report a tick bite and even send the tick to their laboratory to have it analyzed in order to detect its possible contamination by Borrelia. It's here : https://www.citique.fr/

(It seems that the site is still a little buggy because we did not manage to make a report ...).

HCQ AND AZT are prescribed for Lyme disease ...

Coronavirus: an association of Lyme patients denounces "a surreal situation"

In an open letter to the Minister of Health, the Orne Lyme association draws a parallel between the care of Lyme patients and those of the Coronavirus. She asks for massive screening and for Professor Raoult's treatment to be applied throughout the country.

Sophie Dubé, president of Orne Lyme, has, like many chronic Lyme disease patients, taken Chloroquine and azithromycin

"There is something surreal about this situation and I do not think it is likely to restore people's confidence in health authorities."

Sophie Dubé, President of Orne Lyme does not mince words. The association has decided to directly appeal to the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, via an open letter which demands that Professor Raoult's recommendations be applied by the health authorities.

“As Lyme patients, we have known a situation for several years that strangely reminds us of what we are going through with the coronavirus. There is a treatment that has given encouraging results [those of Professor Raoult] and, opposite, there is a denial and a systematic obstruction to advance against the disease ”, considers Sophie Dubé.

For a long time, victims of the chronic form of Lyme disease, this disease transmitted by the bite of ticks, have in fact requested treatment adapted to their pathology.

For lack of a solution, some are forced to seek treatment abroad, in Germany, or in the United States.

Questioning of the health doctrine

The debate on Lyme disease has stalled in recent years, when it was the subject of a national fight plan in 2016. The recommendations of the High Authority for Health (HAS) were then put back into action. cause by several large learned societies, in particular with regard to the prolongation of antibiotic therapy.

Result: patients are still waiting for effective treatments. Sophie Dubé points the finger in particular to Jérôme Salomon, the current director general of health, who has also chaired the working group of the High Authority for Health on Lyme disease

It dates from March, your news.
This one is more recent:
The FFMVT expresses its deep disagreement with the comments made by Prof. Christian Perronne, Vice-President of the Federation and President of its Scientific Council ...

Despite repeated attempts to renew the dialogue, and in the face of a lack of a serious answer to the question asked, Prof. Christian Perronne was therefore dismissed from his functions as Vice-President of the Federation and President of the Scientific Council.
