And as humus underlines, ter repetita, since it seems to me to have stated 3 inseparable measures and not just 1.

How do you qualify a technological society that is not capitalist?

At the time I was wondering what you were talking about, it's a film, that I saw on TV without memorizing the title : Lol:
Horrible world, but I don't remember them describing the means of subsistence or has then escaped me, being too absorbed in the fate of the hero.

For the moment yes, since hardly anyone and especially not at the top (leaders), the place is good, does not want to let go of capitalism. We are not revolting enough. : Wink:

Question of choice and will. We do not revolt enough, against our well-rooted ideas, against the established external order.
Materially there is no reason not to have a society with a relative level of technology that is not based on material growth of the "whatever the cost" type.
It is precisely the material growth of capitalism that does not select the technologies which would be the most ethical, the most useful for life, but selects the technologies allowing rapid financial growth, a rapid return on investment.

I don't know if that was GuyGadeboisLeRetour's idea with his "Gattaca", but capitalism does not favor eugenics on technologies, that is to say a thoughtful and mature selection on technologies.

As said previously, it is the return on investment, profitability and advertising hype, which make the choice of technologies for us.
The will, the deep human aspiration has no place.
So yes, today is an oxymoron but tomorrow?
We don't revolt enough : Wink:

Of course, there is growth, but also the division of labor and the very advanced hierarchization (power, knowledge) of society which allow a type of industrial society: it is all of these conditions harmful to life that are necessary.

but as I told you previously, a lack of growth does not change the fact that we consume non-renewables. To grow is to consume faster and faster, but there is no need to grow to deplete resources. What kind of "revolt" you want to do against that, it's not clear!

moreover, posting that you have to stop consuming on a computer connected to the internet, it's ... weird.
