It is all well and good to promote a petition, but proposals must also be made. You did not answer the question of funding.

Necessary for ...? Have legitimacy? Sorry but internet petitions are not worth much: the same person can sign N times ...

Who is the author of this petition?

They will make a hell of a lot of money with the collected emails ... if they decide to trade or other propaganda tools:

http://www.who.is/whois/referendumretraites.org/

= not much, it's anonymized just a name:

Name: Xavier Frison

We have more info with DNS:

Name Servers:
dns.sudeducation.org
karl.globenet.org

So it looks like it's a union behind ... but it remains unclear to say the least ...

The contact gives a gmail account without any name ... : Shock:

It's a joke !!

ps: indy49 if the unions knew how to count just, it would be ...

Unions, no (we saw this with xaveco and its union sources :D ), but Bernard seems to me a little stronger in math.

Did you read the call 4,4M signatures, this is the number set by the French constitution to launch a popular initiative referendum.

It is however written: it is the politis newspaper which launched this petition to obtain a referendum.

Do you know google?

There you get really heavy, it's defamation.

http://www.globenet.org/ is transparent, it is one of the only associative hosts in France, in the same spirit as http://www.fdn.org/

ie the only ones to have launched a recourse to the council of state against hadopi,

and also the only ones to have refused the logs of the emails, which go against freedom.

They are part of the organizers of the World Free Software Meetings.

And if you don't know Benjamin Bayart, who is one of the defenders of free internet in France, and find out a bit :-)
http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benjamin_Bayart

Obviously, the launch of the site http://www.referendumretraites.org/ was done hard on November 13: they did not anticipate success, more than 26000 signatures per day, and the pace is continuing: 187615 at this time.

When I say “hard”, it's an image, because 26000 signatures per day is a real performance. And they learned, it seems: 2 day outage according to http://www.referendumretraites.org/spip.php?article35

Great. And how many funding proposals?
I find it strange that you are studying this fundamental question.

The 200 signatures exceeded last night!

But they have to do maintenance, not easy to bear this load!
