Detroit Motor Show: "green wave" against a backdrop of American slowdown

The Detroit auto show (northeast) this year highlighted the need to develop more "green" vehicles, a consumption theme that has become essential which has further sharpened the rivalry between American and Asian manufacturers.
In fact, all manufacturers have stepped up their commitments to cars that reduce polluting emissions, at a time when more and more countries are worried about global warming, including the United States, at the start of the presidential campaign.
The whole range of new technologies is represented: hybrid propulsion, plug-in hybrid, electric motors, fuel cell, biofuels based on cereals but also urban waste.
These alternatives are "a necessity for the industry and a commitment for the society", launched General Motors CEO Rick Wagoner, who also called on the US government to accelerate the installation of infrastructure that will allow mass development of these new generation cars.
"The automotive world is changing", insisted the CEO of GM, evoking the cut between emerging and developed markets, as well as the question of the systems of motorization and fuels ............
