Edouard Michelin, CEO of the group, drowned off the island of Sein

The CEO of the Michelin group, Edouard Michelin, was killed on Friday in the sinking of a fishing boat off the island of Sein (Brittany, west of France), we learned on Friday from the gendarmerie.

Michelin left Friday morning to fish for sea bass in the tidal wave of Sein, with the chairman of the Audierne fisheries committee (south of Finistère), Guillaume Normant, when the boat, a spinner-liner, was wrecked in conditions still unexplained.

"No one saw or heard anything. The sea was good, but there was a thick mist that did not rise until around midday," commander Jean-Marie Figue told AFP. , spokesperson for the Atlantic Maritime Prefecture.

The body of Mr. Michelin was recovered off the island and searches continued at the end of the day to find the body of Mr. Normant, according to the same source.

Edouard Michelin is the CEO of the world's number one tire company, which employs 125.000 people worldwide. His group is also the editor of the prestigious gastronomic guide born in 1900, which awards the coveted stars to the best restaurants.

So what?

it is very unfortunate, but his life is worth no more than that of another.

Well it's still "funny" because I made a news on Michelin this morning since they launched a campaign "ecology and economy" ... otherwise I would obviously not have relayed this info ...

Chirac spoke: "The industry is in mourning"
As long as it was not a submarine that hit the boat, because the sea was calm in the breeze ...
The fact remains that there is immediate research to locate the boat.
I do not remember so much eagerness, when it was a trawler with some missing men on board ...
This is still a counter ad for Michelin! Think:
"Bibendum, the Michelin man drowned"
Not even, an inner tube in your pocket, to serve as a buoy ...
