Milk strike. Despite the proposals, the movement continues

VIDEO - Not bad but can do a lot better. This is the assessment given by the trade unions to the copy of the Minister of Agriculture, Bruno Le Maire, made Monday evening. The announcement of preferential loans to lighten the cash flow of breeders is certainly an "advance", but insufficient.

"We are offered a loan of 2500 euros and we have a loss of 15.000 euros on average," notes Daniel Condat, national president of the association of milk producers (APL).

"People are determined to continue the movement because we are far from the mark," said Pasacl Massol, national president of the association of independent milk producers (APLI), who fears "a radicalization of the movement". According to him, the movement could continue in other forms, "such as the filtering of dairies".

As was already the case yesterday at the Danone dairy in Lacapelle-Marival, in the Lot, where 60 members of the Confédération paysanne poured 80 liters of milk, or at Temple-sur-Lot and Montayral, in the department neighbor of Lot-et-Garonne where the striking producers let the delivery trucks pass but not the milk from the farms. Producers took turns all night joined by cereal and pruniculturalists. Also note, in the same department, the entry into the running of the FNPL (FDSEA) until then absent from the movement.

In Ariège, the producers expressed their dissatisfaction in Foix, making the happiness of the Fuxéens who appreciated the free distribution of milk. Identical operation planned this morning, in Tarascon-sur-Ariège.

Radicalization still in Tarn-et-Garonne, where the Young Farmers promise that “milk will flow freely today.

Zigzag milk producers like this we maintain the oil lobby.
Galactoplasty is used to make plastics from fresh untreated milk. It would be an outlet for a good part of milk production.
But rather than developing this greener industry because it works with non-fossil raw materials, we are continuing to petrochemical.
If we milk the milk producers (5000 milk producers less per year since 2001) there will no longer be excess milk that could allow the development of galactochemistry.
And when the time is right, we will have more producers and we will pay more for plastic and milk.
The journalist who wanted France to be first in the world in organic fuel, should rather deal with this chemistry which allows both to save milk producers and to get rid of part of the petrochemical industry.
But we are in France and unfortunately if we have ideas, we also have lobbies that let them rot or make them come back from abroad.

Milk: "continue actions" (union)

by recyclinage » 27/09/09, 11:12

The Confédération paysanne, believing that "nothing is won", called on Friday for the "continuation of actions" after the suspension of the milk strike until October 5, date of a meeting of European ministers of the agriculture to discuss the dairy crisis.

For the minority agricultural union, which itself had not called for the strike but supported it, the Franco-German proposal for a "new regulation" lacks precision. This project will be discussed in Brussels on October 5th.

"The notion of regulation, if it remains on the simple management of surpluses, will in no way solve overproduction and will accelerate the elimination of peasants and the fall in prices paid to producers," the Confederation said in its press release.
"A European public control coupled with a fair distribution between countries and peasants is essential", continued the trade union organization.
The union "calls on all the peasants to remain mobilized to obtain another European dairy policy, particularly on October 5 when a large front of peasants must once again organize to impose this change".

It also demands "an immediate rise in the price of milk and therefore calls for the holding without delay of a round table under the responsibility of the Minister of Agriculture with the various players in the sector and in particular all the representative unions".

The European milk delivery strike, launched two weeks ago, is suspended until October 5, the date of an extraordinary meeting of European agriculture ministers devoted to the crisis in the sector. In France, the two striking organizations warned that they would relaunch the movement "if no reasonable decision was taken" by the ministers.
