A new bastion of freedom of the press, and that of intelligence, has thus fallen into the utmost silence. A program of deciphering current events, in particular national politics, and communication strategies could undoubtedly only get in the way.

Latest info, I hope for them that the choice to make a paid website will prove to be judicious ... as a webmaster for a few years, I doubt it but they had to do their calculations ...

Hello everyone,

In these days of return, I wish to give you good news about the future of Arrêt sur images.

We have been silent this summer. However, from the Tour de France to the spectacular liberation of the Bulgarian nurses, via the new encroachments of the celebrity press, we would have had a lot of subjects to deal with, in a media universe more monocolour, and more violent than ever.

But we were preparing for the start of the school year.
In short, we decided to build a site.

Since no TV channel wants to produce or broadcast Arrêt sur images, and since basically only its viewers want this show to continue, we are going to do without television.

We're going to do the show on the Internet.

Obviously, it will not be the same show. Besides, it won't really be a show.

It will be ... a site.

With texts, like in blogs. With images broadcast by television, of course. With reports, filmed or written, on the characters of media tragicomedy. And with debates on the plateau, as in the program deleted by France 5. The debates will obviously be shorter. We do not watch pictures on the Internet in the same way as on television.

So the great Sunday mass will be burst into a rain of meetings and inquiries. There will be daily or weekly appointments. There will also be unexpected appearances. There will be faces that you already know. There will also be new faces. The site will be very responsive to current events, but we will also build a solid archive collection, to restore its memory to the audiovisual world, the world of fleetingness and amnesia.

The site will be mainly financed by its subscribers.

We were very hesitant to choose this method of financing. Shouldn't we bet everything on advertising? Was it not necessary to appeal to generous investors?

It is your number that won our decision. Your number, and the motivation of all of you that we met this summer, during our travels.

We therefore did not call on investors. And we would like the use of advertising to be moderate.

By choosing this method of financing, we know that we are going against the grain of the times. The zeitgeist reiterates that the trend towards free access to all services produced on the Internet is inevitable. The spirit of the times keeps repeating that nothing can be done about it.

We don't really like to listen to the times.

We therefore make the opposite bet. We bet that enough citizens will believe that independent information about the media world is a service that comes at a cost.

However, we do not want to limit ourselves to the convinced. Some parts of the future site will be accessible to everyone. We want it to make a strong contribution to public debate. We want its analyzes, its information, to irrigate the Internet, and to thwart the purring of the big machine.

The subscription campaign will be launched in September, time to complete the final preparations. All the details of the Freeze Frame resurrection will then be revealed to you as a priority, to all of you who have signed up for your show to continue.

Simultaneously with this campaign, we will undertake the construction of the final site.

It should be a matter of a few months. The time to find the hands that will build it (which is not the easiest) and ... to build it, welcoming, durable, spacious, comfortable, equipped to weather the flood.

Strongly 2008!
