The idea is interesting but is the fan really a significant consumption of a pc?

I mean by that: even if it means stirling with the losses as much to feed something other than the ventillo :)

For me it is one more geek gadget ...

The yield is then 70%, which is quite enormous given that solar energy is currently around 30%. The gas which drives the movement of the piston then follows a cycle through the system in place: it expands when it heats and shrinks when it cools, which causes the fan to move continuously.

AIE Aie Aie...

Computing and thermodynamics really do not mix well ... except on éconologie.com : Mrgreen:

Serious must stop broadcasting such bullshit ... this striling must not exceed 30% given its simplicity, same error for solar: 15% ...

In addition, the fan is not the most effective solution for cooling a PC. Liquid cooling is much better.

The ideal solution remaining to use an open box on a balcony in Moscow in winter. Yes, a Russian geek did that and cut all the fans.

even better and more simple: immerse the motherboard in an aquarium filled with oil!
see the fans of course ...

A little more seriously, it's a bit stupid to make such a complicated device to save on the energy coming from the fan instead of focusing on reducing the heating of the PCs.
