The good, the bad, and Breaking Bad above.

In this 21st century art of the TV series, three masterpieces are unanimous: Six Feet Under teaches us how to deal with love, death and the family. The Wire tells us about a certain state of capitalism as it dominates the dealers, dockers and politicians. Mad Men reminds us how it all started, from the advertising lie to the dissolution of the family. The TV series are our Thousand and One Nights, our Odysseys, our Human Comedies. With their infinite storytelling that we are aging, and their choral narrative echoing our fragmented era. Author work in the industry of images, the best series keep a character artisanal: well dialogued, well played, they propose unheard characters that jostle morality in the eyes of the world.

But a strongly amoral dimension of series, little commented so far, is that this cultural phenomenon recognized and valued circulates so ostensibly illegal. To see the good series of which "everybody speaks", with the episodes in the order and in their original language, the honest citizen telephones must pass necessarily by a network of exchange, copies and downloads forbidden by the law . "It's good because it's forbidden", as Walter White says in Breaking bad after he excited his wife during the parent-teacher meeting? Invited to friends, the 2010 label orders to bring his USB key to share his latest findings: Hung, Weeds, True Blood .... Or Breaking Bad, which ARTE finally legalizes consumption in France and Germany.

Accros series

A mother sells grass, vampire blood hovers, a chemistry teacher makes meta-amphetamine ...
There is a lot of drug addiction in the TV series, which is itself - as is practical - a reason for addiction. On the other side of the Atlantic, the consumer is religiously waiting for his weekly dose. Here, the amateur prefers the overdose of the insomniac trip, the full marathon of episodes from which it emerges at the dawn filled, stunned and red eyes. On Monday, he exchanges his comments and his illicit files around the coffee machine (by the way, the 3 season of Breaking Bad is always so great). The series has replaced the rock band as a sign of distinction: we can now write "Glee" on his wallet of schoolboy as we struggled to copy with the ballpoint the acronym AC / DC (or Magma, for older) . The series make addicted to their drug stories. Reflection on the good and the bad, story of stupas and family, dark and burlesque tragi-comedy, Breaking Bad is the best dope of the moment.

We recognize a good series to the affection we feel for characters so well written and well incarnated. An example ? In Breaking Bad the son of the hero, Walter Junior, brilliant and friendly teenager, walks on crutches and speaks with difficulty. The actor RJ Mitte, himself handicapped, makes exist in seconds and two replicas a disabled motor and cerebral who is neither hero nor victim. He embodies, on the other hand, the paradox of the good and upright guy who has taken full mouth. As his mother, honest and stuck, will soon cover the malpractices of his boss. Like his uncle, brutal cop and macho, will reveal his weaknesses. As the young dealer Jessie accumulates trouble by being, basically, a boy dedicated to doing good. And finally, after confronting cohorts of bandidos as brutal as picturesque, Walter and Jesse will eventually meet the absolute villain in the person of a kind and attractive entrepreneur.

It is therefore a characteristic and a method of writing series, even the best ones, to reverse perspectives and to advance history with contradictions. The characters always do the opposite of what we would do in their place - or what would the heroes of the French series, who know well how a cop or a teenager (they say bad words). Six Feet Under spends its first season convincing us that a gang of marginalized - drugged, fagot, nympho, black - are in fact ordinary people like us. Then the second season shows that ordinary people like us are self-destructive and unsuitable monsters. Walter White is a dull little chemistry teacher who becomes an amphetamine dealer to save his family. This passage on the dark side will make him better: fiery lover, captivating teacher and protective father, before transforming him little by little into a complete bastard. Is evil good? But one can not lie constantly and drag death with oneself: evil is bad? How will Walter get out of this duality? Do not miss the rest of the program.

Art or sunset

This is perhaps the limit of perceiving series as an art. It is in the nature of art, besides giving us something pleasant to contemplate by eating peanuts, to surprise us, to worry, to open us to the unknown. Despite all its twists and surprises, despite its paradoxes and reversals, the series offers by definition a familiar sight, a mirror where to recognize, a place to meet. We will look in vain for a transcendence, an infinity of meaning that would not have been thought from the beginning by the evil geniuses of the writers room.

Breaking Bad, at least, makes efforts to stylize the moral lesson, always virtuoso and subtle, imagined by Vince Gilligan. The series shows Albuquerque, New Mexico, like a big nowhere sun-drenched, sown with incredibly ugly residences, where the sun sets in the saturated colors of artists' polaroids. If the scenario of the good series is always better than that of the commercial cinema, here the photography is in the tuning fork. The image even alleviates the harshness of situations, burlesque to the point: Jessie trying to recover his camper is five minutes of slapstick without words, a series of pure gags worthy of Chaplin or Tex Avery.

The use of sound is also remarkable, playing as it should be the shift, out-of-field: the mere ringing of a bell is enough to close an episode in a tragic absurd. Finally, the soundtrack is up, with sharp pop-rock titles (TV on the Radio, genre) that accompany the action or ironically with style. An episode of the 2 season begins with a cheering parody of narcorrido clip, these songs to the glory of Mexican traffickers.

Breaking Bad is a feast for the eyes, ears and mind, but it's our soul that worries. In a world dominated by social violence, evil is probably our best ally.

It's addictive, a bit crazy, but for those who left hydrofluoric acid in a glass (under a chemical hood) to see, it takes so much time to stain and attack a little glass significantly, a week that there is doubt that the enamel of the bathtub is attacked so quickly and pierced.
The teacher for a serious patient, keeps a lot of vitality, not very credible !!
It seems more willing to participate in the search for a product to heal!
Finally, it deserves the TV 3Z Z!

The reality is often more fantastic and horrible than the best scenarios, which have never imagined the 11 / 09 / 01, AZF, Chernobyl, or Bhopal, the tsunamis (neglected and underestimated before end 2004), the super-volcanoes, and many others !!
The unimaginable suspense and mystery about 11 / 09 / 01, AZF and other possible manipulations is much more exciting and mysterious, but too real, not a dream where you can wake up !!
I have a tendency to prefer the real, as long as I'm not stuck in it !!!

While it is true that the first episodes lack a little depth, but you must know that they are the worst of the series ...
All this to say that the series will only increase in intensity and depth.

The worst episodes? Mmm not too much agree, it's already super intense ... but the fact is we have not tamed Walt yet ... understand that your affection and compassion towards him will rise crescendo over the episodes ... so the more you enter the series, the more the identification phenomenon will be intense.

Good to say that for me it was fast, I watched the 1 season ... in one go! : Cheesy:
