Geo challenger: in pursuit of black gold
A report by Herlé Jouon
A France 3 Thalassa / Grand Angle production
The Geo Challenger, 90m, one of the many vessels in the Compagnie Générale de Géophysique fleet. He travels the seas in search of funds rich in oil and gas. It is a true floating factory with more than 50 crew members. Some do not see the light of day because they compile the data collected by the seismic sensors pulled behind the ship; the others must have an eye on both whales and fishermen who might get in the way of the boat. Let's explore the first of the seismic vessels.

I think I remember that they explore the seabed up to 70 km deep, a kind of very precise ultrasound ....... results provided to oil groups.
According to the scientists on board, they find and will find a lot of them and that may change the date of peak-oil
It is not for tomorrow that it will no longer have oil or gas to exploit, so renewable energies will have difficulty "breaking through".
