Carbon tax: the FNSEA asks for an exemption

FNSEA calls for a white year 2009 and an exemption from the carbon tax
AP | 03.09.2009/10/32 | XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.

The FNSEA, the first farmers' union, is asking for a "blank year on charges" in 2009 as well as an "exemption" from the carbon tax.

"We are totally against this new tax," Jean-Michel Lemétayer, president of the National Federation of Farmers' Unions, said Thursday on France-Info. "I ask for exemption from this tax, at least at this stage."

According to him, the climate energy contribution (CCE) proposed by the government "will heavily penalize agricultural producers, particularly greenhouse producers who need energy". He notes that foreign farmers will not be subject to this tax but will be able to export their products to France. "Create a new distortion of competition to the detriment of our producers when things are already going badly, I say no".

Affirming that farmers were going through their most serious crisis for 30 years, Jean-Michel Lemétayer asked the government "to support the income of 2009 for producers by reducing our charges".

"There are not 36 solutions, it's a blank year on financial charges," pleaded the president of the FNSEA, who should meet Nicolas Sarkozy next week. "We are dealing with price situations (paid to producers) which are those of 10-15 years ago and I think that we cannot face such a situation". AP

Hey here it starts! Thanks for the Recy info!

This is precisely what I said from the start in the discussion on the carbon tax: https://www.econologie.com/forums/taxe-carbo ... t7762.html

To know: the professions "lobbysée" will be exempted ... by the law or the force ...

Finally it is not yet accepted ... but I doubt that the FNSEA gives up.

Fortunately, the carbon tax does not concern fertilizers and Nox ... : Mrgreen:

In my opinion, a humorous tone is essential, especially given the smiley ...

Carbon tax

by bobono » 03/09/09, 22:26

Did you know that the Breton pork producers (plus a certain coop and group) ship their pigs living to Holland, Germany and Spain.

All this to earn a few cents on the kilo of pigs for thousands of km by truck.

A good carbon tax would do them the greatest good. Of course the meat once worked boned returns to France.

Yeah well I would like this country to be exempt from FNSEA. It would cost less and it would be a hell of pollution.

Carbon tax OK. But not ONLY on fuels and heating.
Mostly.
€ 14 per ton OK.
To make how many tonnes of CO2? Hop on tax.
To bring products or foodstuffs abroad how many tonnes of CO2? Hop on tax.

By making a REAL CO2 tax, we will promote local economies, relocation and less polluting industrial processes.
If it is only on fuel and heating it is a scam.

If we integrate the CO2 cost of mashed tomatoes from China to make the tomato sauces made in Vaucluse by a big brand, this brand might be tempted to see with local producers.
Ditto for supermarkets.

The FNSEA instead of asking for an exemption would do well to ask for an extension to all the products and the local productions would suddenly become economically interesting with the supermarkets!

I agree with you, but you have to start somewhere.

This is the whole debate that drives this subject: https://www.econologie.com/forums/taxe-carbo ... t7762.html

The current carbon tax is the story of how to make a tax to annoy the green between them? :D
