The Évin law, named after its author Claude Évin (or law of 10 January 1991 relating to the fight against smoking and alcoholism), combats smoking by establishing the principle of a ban on smoking in all places of work assigned to a collective use, as well as in collective places of transport. Regarding alcohol, it severely limits the right to advertise alcoholic beverages in order to protect young people from marketing operations.
This year 2008 hardening, total ban on smoking in public places.
For alcohol, Evin was no longer drinking at work, and the rest of the time drinking in moderation + limited alcoholic pubs.
Since Sarko, accentuated criminalization of drunk driving + strong alcohol pubs, are once again authorized in the newspapers (? ...).
