Actor Guillaume Depardieu died at age 37 of pneumonia
The actor Guillaume Depardieu was sentenced Thursday to two months in prison by the Versailles Criminal Court, for having driven, while drunk on a scooter, on the night of February 10, in Bougival (Yvelines).
The actor Guillaume Depardieu died Monday at the hospital of Garches (Hauts-de-Seine), at the age of 37, after "having contracted a virus which caused a lightning pneumonia", we learned with Artmedia, the agent of his father Gérard Depardieu.
"He died today (Monday) early in the afternoon, after contracting a virus that caused severe pneumonia," Artmedia told AFP.
Son of Gérard and Elisabeth Depardieu, also an actress, born on April 7, 1971, this actor with a touch of sensibility has shot almost twenty films.
Long crushed by the personality and celebrity of his father, Guillaume had had a rebellious youth, marked by speed, violence, drugs and alcohol which had led him to prison.
In 2003, he had his right leg amputated to end the suffering caused by an infection he contracted following 17 operations after a motorcycle accident in October 1995.
