The Flemish public transport operator (bus and tram) company De Lijn (= the line) announces the entry into service of a prototype hydrogen bus from 1/07 on the Lier Antwerpen line (12 connections per day)
This bus was developed by the Van Hool company. No need to surf their site, they don't talk about it. But if you type on google:
van hool fuel cell, you will find a lot of articles.
This bus is powered by a fuel cell.
we will no longer be able to say "smoke! it's Belgian"

All H2 storage technologies are set out in .pdf ...
Otherwise a combustion-explosion of H2 is less dangerous than an explosion of hydrocarbons...car the H2 (and therefore its flame) rises very quickly in altitude ... the heat on the ground is therefore "relatively" low. In the hidenbourg accident, the people who remained in the gangway (which therefore burned down) did not die ... The dead were those who jumped ...
In addition, the ignition energy of H2 is, it seems to me, lower than that of petrol (and therefore LPG because very close) in stoichiometry. The only drawback of H2 is its flammability range depending on its much higher concentration in air ...
And yes the (false) received ideas die hard ...
