Announcement effect or reality?

Alstom - CO2 capture project in the United States

PARIS, February 27 (Reuters) - Alstom announced on Wednesday the launch of a CO2 capture project with two American partners, the EPRI (Electric Power Research Institute) and the electrician We Energies.

In a press release, the French group indicates that it has designed, built and will operate this 1,7 MW system which captures the CO2 of part of the combustion gases from the coal boiler of the We Energies power plant located at Pleasant Prairie (Wisconsin), with a total capacity of 1 MW.

"The process uses refrigerated ammonia to capture the CO2 and isolate it at high concentration and under high pressure", says Alstom, adding that laboratory tests have shown a potential to capture more than 90% of C02 at a cost much lower than other existing technologies. / YLG

Only when he has brought down the last tree, the last river contaminated, the last fish caught that man will realize that money is not edible (Indian MOHAWK).

And if it works ... what do they do with it after? If it's to put it in a porous hole ... or in coca cola : Cheesy:

Relevant question. Isn't there a small chemical reaction with any OH?

That said, how much energy does it take to cool the ammonia?

Sorry to be rude but such CO2 capture projects it's shit because spending resources and energy to "capture" the CO2 which can be a resource moreover it holds deep debility...

Ammonia refrigerated but of course ... I bet you have to spend 1kg of CO2 to capture 1 .... too ingenious ...

The Americans are less stupid than the French on this one ...

And yes Christophe, I fear that their system is energy consuming and that the results are very inglorious ... : Cry:

And I find your taste for biofuels (and not agrofuels cr I read the important and relevant nuance that you make on this subject!) :P

There is indeed nothing like storing CO2 than using nature with a little sun and water :!: : Idea:

Nothing to do, but I put your site in link / partners on my SYCOMOREEN site, I believe that you will not see any inconvenience :?:
