The leak has been located, Stritar said, adding that the plant must be cooled for about a day before the leak is repaired.

wah what a masterable technology!

Ljubljana first reported this incident, which occurred in the plant's primary cooling circuit, as an "exercise" and not as an actual failure. "This seriously calls into question our confidence in the Slovenian warning system," he said in a statement stressing that he would submit this issue to the next EU Council of Ministers on Thursday in Luxembourg.

wah what confidence in communication!

The Krsko nuclear power plant was shut down in order to determine the causes of a leak which "did not should no impact on the environment ".

wah what security in the words!

the fault concerns "a liquid leak on the primary cooling circuit

according to bougonnator:
A primary circuit is in contact with the reactor water

so it is a leak during 1 day of water in direct contact with the reactor ...

Rest assured tomorrow will be nuclear or not ...

apparently with us it's not better:

"
Note from the "Quitting nuclear" Network: still the good old methods to defuse any controversy in advance: safety is "generally satisfactory". But when we dig a little deeper, we see that the situation is deteriorating steadily and that we are more than ever under the threat of a Chernobyl in France ... or elsewhere.

Belleville power station must improve its operational rigor (ASN)
AFP - 05.06.08 - The safety of nuclear installations in the Center region remains satisfactory overall but "the rigor of operation must be improved at the Belleville-sur-Loire plant" (Cher), the Authority said Thursday in Orléans of nuclear safety (ASN).

The site, which has two 1.300 megawatt pressurized water reactors, must "strengthen its efforts in terms of organization to fill in the shortcomings highlighted since the in-depth inspection of 2006", specified ASN during a press briefing on the occasion of the presentation of its 2007 report. A new inspection is scheduled for the summer of 2008 in order to take stock of the actions taken by the plant.

In total, nine level 1 incidents were reported during 2007 against eleven in 2006 at the Belleville-sur-Loire, Dampierre-en-Burly, Saint-Laurent des Eaux (Loir-et-Cher) and Chinon power plants. (Indre-et-Loire). The Dampierre-en-Burly (Loiret) plant, which had experienced serious difficulties in the early 2000s, is now considered to be a "high-performance site", in particular for "the detection of anomalies and the safety culture".

The Center region has twelve pressurized water reactors in operation, five others using natural uranium graphite gas being dismantled in Saint-Laurent-des-Eaux and Chinon, and two radioactive graphite storage silos.

Small parenthesis, I have more confidence in ASN than in the anti-nuke ecological networks ...

well you need 2!
in both cases there is food and drink anyway ...
but as long as civilian nuclear power is classified as a defense secret, independent organizations will be needed!

ok for quotes ;-)

We can sleep peacefully : Mrgreen: during that time, the power plants are getting older and since there will be less money to dismantle them and rebuild new ones (the money goes into tax havens and tax loopholes: I will open a subject on this to show how the money is being diverted to build overseas palaces and increasingly large and luxurious yachts, so much money that will not be used to secure our power plants) .... I was saying, well, they will become more and more + "at risk". Add to that the outsourcing (cut costs) and you have a cocktail just around the corner for the next Chernobyl (maybe 20 years from now ... but it's tomorrow).
