Re: Testing the minimum power measurable by different wattmeter sockets
Thank you Izentrop for this document. It is clear that the cos phi only applies to purely inductive circuits, with electronic devices it is more accurate to speak of power factor. For the oscillator, I have one that has been lying around in the attic for fifteen years, I hadn't managed to make it work...

Hello,
I don't have a swing...
The box is glued, no screws, I will still do a few tests before sawing it.

Re: Testing the minimum power measurable by different wattmeter sockets
... If you put it on a socket further away from the measurement, like 10m (so more on the cables), what does it do on the Sinotimer? He has to be after the counter, of course, but the distance doesn't matter. I tried with a 40m reel. I do think, however, that the distance between the fa...

Re: Testing the minimum power measurable by different wattmeter sockets
Haven't opened the box yet. It's supposed to improve the fp, but it does the opposite, it brings it back to 0.00... for the Chinese meter. For the pm231 it also lowers it, because of the 140mA it consumes with an fp of 0.01, the measured values remain logical. With 0.5W of additional consumption! ...

Re: Testing the minimum power measurable by different wattmeter sockets
I found something weird in some recycled boxes. I thought it was an ultrasonic mosquito repellent, but it's an "electricity saver", it's called "power factor saver", it makes sense from the packaging to lower the electricity bill :P pfs graph.JPG pfs plaq....

Re: Testing the minimum power measurable by different wattmeter sockets
I made some measurements with both devices, sometimes they agree, sometimes not... The pm231 seems more relevant, sometimes. Here is an example with a led bulb marked 2.5W 25mA (calculated fp 43%) led 2.5W.JPG pm231-led 2.5W.JPG In this case, the pm231 displays a fp of 95%... The values of the...

Re: Automatic re-ignition of a converter
You're welcome, I like this kind of DIY :) On your last diagram, by putting a PNP and a resistor next to the LED, it could work the other way around. For the 24V models, they make some that range from 6 to 60V!. Otherwise, for the initial subject, it would be necessary to see which regulator is used, for the...

Re: Automatic re-ignition of a converter
it reverses the direction of the current in the relay, not the direction of operation...
The relay should energize when the out output is deactivated.
