Cost of investment of installed capacity in 2003 (small installations):
- PV modules only: 3 € / Wc in large series
(down to 1,6 € / Wc envisaged in 2010)
- installation: 1,5 € / Wc
- inverter: 1,5 to 0,8 € / Wc (500 W to 5 kW)
- storage on batteries: 3 6 € / Wc according to stored energy
(about 0,15 € / Wh so 3 € / W is equivalent to 20 hours at Pmax)

Total without battery: <6 € / Wp

To have an order of magnitude of comparison: a small generator (which is now found in all brico) 1kW costs less than 150 €, a cost per Wc of 150 / 1000 = 0,15 € / Wc ...I bet that without the subsidies the cost of the kWh PV is worse than the cost of this generator ... even with gasoline 1,5 € ...

You laugh ! Just try to find the PV at wholesale price below 3,7 euros the watt peak to see! Add to that the UPS: look on the Internet how much is an SMA Sunny Boy 2100, for example, it is an average size.
