Cable length between panels and regulator

by sector34 » 07/11/21, 17:32

Hello and thank you for your welcome,

Let me introduce myself, Richard from Pyrénées-Orientales (66), I started my solar installation 2 and a half years ago in my leisure area, with 2 mono panels of 180 watts 12 volts in series connected to a Mppt Epever 30 Amp and an EDECOA Pure Sine Converter 12v 220v 1000w LCD screen inverter, all with 1 batteries (Power Battery) in 225ah. Noting that it worked well I installed a 2nd battery, in parallel with the 1st, of the same brand (Power Battery) of 225 ah with a 20 Amp Mppt next to the 1st Mppt and connected to a 230 watt 12 volt panel .

Here is my question:
I have very little sun near the shed where my 2 MPPT equipment is installed.
1) Can I place my 3 solar panels 12 meters from the Mppt regulators, to have more sun on my panels throughout the day? because where there is very little sun.
2) And I would also like to know which section I should choose for my 12 meter cables between my panels and my regulators.
I come here to find a little help and also to learn a lot of cool things.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello, for 15 A, 2.5 mm² is enough.
With 4 mm², you are sure that the wires will not heat up.
