Rape, sexual assault, an uninhibited misogyny and covered by the administration and management: this is the daily life of many students in the great French business schools that are HEC, Essec and Edhec.
Iban Raïs, independent journalist, for two years investigated the abuses of these establishments, but also the crimes and sexual crimes that are perpetrated there each year. His book, La Fabrique des élites derailed, has just been published by Robert Laffont editions. It describes a true culture of rape and a tradition of misogynistic sexual violence shared through fanzines, websites, party events, videos and daily humiliations.
For the victims, denouncing this violence is impossible. The management covers and protects the aggressors, even if it means letting them obtain positions of influence within the main student associations. And no one in these schools is really trained to welcome the voices of women victims.
These business schools also train the bosses of the CAC40, the consulting, banking and insurance players of tomorrow. They also influence our policies: currently, 46 deputies have graduated from a major business school, and 8 ministers and secretaries of state from the Castex government have passed through their benches.
