Re: Production of hot water in photovoltaic direct current

The difficulty is to extract the signal delivered by the thermostat of the tank. Often the thermostat is directly connected to the heating resistor without external access. I got around the problem by adding a thermostatic contact to the tank without using the original contact. Warning ...

Re: Production of hot water in photovoltaic direct current

If there is a contact from the hot point of the generator (the panels) to the earth (via the user preferably), nothing breaks and it's a disaster ... You have to leave the generator floating and check the insulation to earth from time to time. The first undetected fault returns to the previous case ...

Re: Production of hot water in photovoltaic direct current

I was not clear. When I speak of a generator, I mean the solar group. I don't have a generator with fuel. In fact what I wanted to say is that an independent group does not reinject into the network. The selection is made, either group or network, but there is no ...

Re: Production of hot water in photovoltaic direct current

For safety we can not mix the sector and the DC line of the panels. This line must in fact remain floating to provide 'until the second fault' type protection. An AC mains line is protected by its differential on the first fault. Besides, my inverter also has its ...

Re: Production of hot water in photovoltaic direct current

On my balloon I did not have access to the thermostat contacts. I had to add one outside to control the transistor. For manual cut-off I use one of the contacts of a double contactor to drive the transistor and the other for mechanical cut-off of the power.

Re: Production of hot water in photovoltaic direct current

The generator only concerns devices that only work in AC (rotating machines, therefore fridge motors, etc.). There is no battery, ie in the absence or insufficient solar production, the group switches the power supply from the fridge back to the public network. From ...

Re: Production of hot water in photovoltaic direct current

No the DHW tank is supplied with direct current. I have a second solar network with other panels, connected to the inverter that I have developed, which disconnects certain devices from the EDF network and supplies them with alternating power when the sun is present.

Re: Production of hot water in photovoltaic direct current

No, it is used to switch consumption on panels when the sun is shining.

Re: Production of hot water in photovoltaic direct current

Yes that's right, in fact on both, I often have one of the groups that goes in the shadows. 30 liters this corresponds to the place I had to house the cumulus. For a family with children, it is too fair indeed, but you should not seek 100% autonomy either, especially in hi ...

Re: Production of hot water in photovoltaic direct current

For DC power I have 6 panels of 270W mounted in 2 * 3. They are mounted on the ground in a configuration primarily intended for electrical tests. I have a very unfavorable exposure with a lot of shading. So difficult to extrapolate to a better exposed configuration ...
