It's ugly for them, but it's the kind of information I don't care about at a level you can't imagine!

That's a bit what I was saying when I titled it "people are crazy."

Fatal cryotherapy session in Paris: second victim "brain dead" The autopsy report of the first victim concluded that there was "asphyxia syndrome in an oxygen-depleted environment," the prosecutor's office said. which supports the hypothesis of a nitrogen leak in the cryotherapy cabin.
There is no madness in cryotherapy, but a lack of vigilance regarding the condition of the equipment used, which can happen to anyone; otherwise, all maintenance technicians on earth would have to be considered mad and not the users of any equipment whatsoever!

A few clinical studies have been conducted in various indications (including lower back pain, fibromyalgia, and rheumatic diseases). Some have outlined possible beneficial effects. For example, a study in patients with fibromyalgia compared two groups of patients: half of the patients received 10 cryotherapy sessions at -196°C for 3 weeks, while the other half received no treatment. At the end of the 3 weeks, the treated patients reported less pain and a better quality of life than the untreated patients.

Generally speaking, studies on the subject are very rare and of poor quality. The few studies conducted involved few subjects and measured the effectiveness of treatments over short periods of time, whereas the chronic diseases for which whole-body cryotherapy is intended are long-term. The potentially therapeutic effects of whole-body cryotherapy are therefore far from being demonstrated. In any case, whole-body cryotherapy cannot in any way claim to effectively treat cancers or other severe somatic pathologies.

Worse, whole-body cryotherapy could also pose safety problems, as evidenced by published case studies, testimonies from professionals and even legal cases: local first- or second-degree burns, headaches or increased pain, chronic cold urticaria, digestive intolerances, increased blood pressure and several cases of amnesic stroke (transient amnesia). So many risks that must be carefully weighed before taking the plunge and opting for "cold" as a treatment.

I would be more nuanced, because there are now two well-documented cases of patients who have definitely been relieved...

:?:
I know that cold accelerates many things, my son knows this well, having happily used a machine that produces it* and which helped his condition after an operation on his cruciate tendons, but "plunging the body" into extreme temperatures (which are not found on earth) seems a bit risky to me, especially since anyone can open their own center without medical skills.

Moreover, many professions related to health do not have skills in dietetics, even though the health of consumers depends on it; even many doctors do not really know anything about it.

The teachings of Hippocrates (460 BC-377 BC) are certainly interesting, but they just seem a little dated to me.
