Dear lumberjack, as our father pointed out to everyone (on econology) Christophe, I hadn't assimilated that you were talking about vacuum TV : Cheesy:

I wanted to point out that the TV in supermarkets is very effective against noise and cold, that's all :P

Note in passing that the road is two-way in both directions, hello noise with double glazing, follow a gentle conversation became painful, here everything is only peace and tranquility ...

We have no idea to buy a house in such a place ... 30 years ago this road was a small peaceful alley :P

yes, I thought that double glazed PVC windows must have a steel (or metal) reinforcement in the structure of the opening! It was by observing the sections on the Heidrich site that I noticed that the triple glazed windows were devoid of them.

Is there a standard for these so-called reinforcements?

I don't think there are any standards on this, all that can change about this is the AEV (Air / Water / Wind) rating of windows. The wind resistance test indeed determines the deformation of the frame according to the wind speed and it is clear that a fairly large PVC window, without metal reinforcements, risks, on pain of not being sufficiently anchored in the masonry , to work a lot. My beauf had bought a PVC window with 3 doors at the corner DIY store, when he opened the doors, he noticed that the upper part of the frame was diving; good nothing serious if it is properly fixed but it can affect the seal.
After, it all depends on the design, you find PVC windows with a profile of 5,7,8 rooms supposed to improve thermal insulation, but they also stiffen the frame.
The triple glazed windows are probably also thicker and they probably call for another design.

The manufacturer is Gmartin, the range is Elegance, it is triple glazed compatible with them.

the additional cost compared to double glazing is: 13% not enough to whip a cat : Cheesy:

Small question to the specialists!

Here I am again and again with my nose in my window quotes (and no, I still haven't decided!) And I ask myself the following questions:

Are the air vents at the top of the windows necessary?
In which rooms is it best to place them and why?

thank you for your help (with a little luck I would have changed these damn windows in December! : Evil: )
