Re: Leaking gutter pierced by zinc corrosion: why? Emergency repair and what lasting solution?
Uh so if I understood correctly (not sure) the only solution is to put a sacrificial metal ... there is only magnesium which is worse than zinc ...
So I will try to find some and put in the gutter ... I will see in a year if it has moved ...
ps: the horizontal part is not corroded at all ... it should be too, right ??

Unlike Bozo, my "no" is not rhetoric, and since I said I was bad at electricity, it was a question. Moreover, if I ask it, it is because the answer interests me, I am always happy to learn things in areas where I have gaps.

Stop doing your Obamot ego!
a) You advised to take an electrochemical measurement: OK that's fine with me!
b) I ask for details on the measurement
c) You say you know nothing about electricity!
Conclusion: it is the fuck up there!
In short, no big deal, we've seen worse here!

Re: Leaking gutter pierced by zinc corrosion: why? Emergency repair and what lasting solution?
the aluminum of your panels is not in contact with your gutter? I do not really see how there could be galvanic corrosion with rainwater which is moreover very little conductive… Moreover I think that the flow of water of your gutter would be more impacted than the downpipe….
I must ask my nephew about this…. He is not a chemist but a roofer ... His specialty is listed buildings ... Well, he must not see a lot of aluminum on this kind of roofs….
