Trigly

Transport and new transport: energy, pollution, engine innovations, concept car, hybrid vehicles, prototypes, pollution control, emission standards, tax. not individual transport modes: transport, organization, carsharing or carpooling. Transport without or with less oil.

Trigly

by abyssin3 » 07/10/08, 00:14

Seen on olio, a person rolls with a mixture of triester of glycerol + heptanoic acid:
http://www.oliomobile.org/forum/viewtop ... ht=#168604
a friend who works in the food industry offers me at a ridiculous price a large quantity (several m3) of "TRIGLY" = triester of glycerol and enanthic acid (= heptanoic acid), which from what I have understood, is a food tracer

Does anyone know?

Not at all by cons nothing that the name is "scary" !!

Heptanoic acid 100% Saturated C7 H14 O2 H3C- (CH2) 5-COOH

It would seem from this friend that it is quite possible to "roll with TRIGLY" as with conventional oil, but I would like before ordering to have your opinion on the question.

It is also "quite possible to run on drain engine oil" in an old generation diesel, provided it is filtered and not too thick ...

So I remain 1 little skeptical especially with respect to emissions ... but hey when we see some who burn their tire what good to moan against that?

What is the TRIGLY normally used for?

What's the point? no idea.
But the question I was asking myself was also about emissions.
It is also not impossible that it is chemical waste. I think about it because the guy said "several m3 for a ridiculous price" ...
It may be easier / cheaper to retreat.

Hello,
Basic explanations there:
http://www.ac-grenoble.fr/webcurie/peda ... /bases.htm

"Fats (oils, butters, fats, etc.) are essentially triesters of glycerol and fatty acids, saturated or not, identical or not."

This is not because we always said that it is impossible that we should not try :)

So trigly is an oil, so probably a waste too.
Until then, it is valorization, on the other hand, hepatoic acid ... :?:

Hi, Abyssinian,
It seems to me that there was confusion in the spelling, I think it should read "heptanoic acid"

Hepatoic acid is the fat that flows from a foie gras when pressed : Mrgreen: : Mrgreen:
